The My Lai Massacre happened on March 16, 1968 in the small village of My Lai. Marines, led by Lieutenant Willian Calley, were sent to the village to search for any Northern Vietnamese soldiers. Finding none, they were still ordered to shoot innocent civilians, causing a massacre. This was important because it caused soldier morale to plummet further than it already was, as well as worsen the view people had on the war and the government, as they were covering it up.

Agent Orange was a strong herbicide used in the Vietnam War through 1961-1971. The U.S dropped it throughout North Vietnam to eliminate any forest cover and foliage. The extremely powerful nature of the herbicide eventually caused problems for those hit with it or drinking water contaminated with it. It had, and still is causing health problems, including cancer and birth defects, and many civilian casualties resulted from it.

They were used to force the North Vietnamese to adopt the Southern democratic views. These attacks caused devastation across North Vietnam, as well as many civilian casualties.
