Eragon is a fantasy novel by Christopher Paolini. Eragon is 509 pages. Published in 2002, this book is the first book in a series of four books called the "Inheritance Cycle".
Eragon begins with a fifteen year old boy who works on a farm. He finds a strange blue stone, which he soon finds out to be a dragon egg when a small blue dragon emerges from it. At this time, there is an evil tyrant who rules over the land, named Galbatorix, who is said to have destroyed all the dragon riders. These dragon riders protected the land, creating peace for a period of time. This left Eragon to be the last dragon rider left in the land, other than Galbatorix, who was a former rider who's dragon was killed, causing him to go mad and steal dragons from other riders. Eragon named the blue dragon Saphira, after another dragon rider he had heard of. Over the span of the book, Eragon and Saphira travel around the land to stop Galbatorix.
I recommend this book to people who like fantasy adventure type novels. Overall, this book is pretty neat and you should read it NOW!

Magnus Chase is a fantasy novel series by Rick Riordan, similar to the Percy Jackson series. Published in 2015, this 513 page book, Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer is the first book in a series of three books.
Magnus Chase starts with a teenager named Magnus Chase, who is homeless and out "living" with two of his friends on the streets. When a giant fire person shows up, Magnus Chase tries to help, inevitably ending in his death. But Magnus Chase is astonished when he finds out that he has been brought to the norse mythological place, Valhalla, where heroes are brought when they die. He makes friends there, becomes buff, and leaves Valhalla and finds out that his two friends are actually an elf and a dwarf. He is able to find a sword with the help of his uncle called the Sword of Summer, which he finds to be a talking sword. He goes on many adventures, making friends and overcoming challenges in order to stop the fire giant Surt from freeing Fenris wolf, who will hasten the end of the Earth, Ragnarok.
I would recommend this book to people who like adventure, but with a modern take on certain mythologies.
