My PhD research is aimed at identifying novel IFN-induced factors against HIV.
For my MSc, I had earlier worked on intra-host genomic evolution of HEV on immunocompromised individuals with different outcomes.
My primary research interests are Virus genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and genome editing.

My work focuses on using genomics and computational tools to understand evolution of pathogens and drug resistance as well. I am very much involved in bacterial genomics and other bugs like SARS-CoV-2.

His current work focuses on characterizing microbial diversity and resistome in urban sewage using shotgun metagenomics. He also has special interest in AMR and TB genomics where he has done some work. Stephen looks forward to integrating his current skill set with machine learning and artificial intelligence to further address threats of health concern.

My experience with Nextflow started in 2018 with an interesting story about trying to help a biologist to complete her PhD instead of fighting with environment management or dependency issues for various bioinformatics tools. Today I work for Seqera Labs, the creators of Nextflow and I am passionate about making bioinformatics simple and easy through teaching and contributing through translational science.

I am interested in Open source, Machine Learning, drug resistance prediction in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Genome Wide Association Studies.
