History: In this part of the chapter we learned the history of the land and the many people who have crossed it trying to claim it as their own. From the first death in 1541 till today locals have believed that the Devil's Highway has been haunted by spirits and the souls of the people who have died there. We took a look at how the Natives of this land left little landmarks along the desert so they would know that they were going the right way.
