The consequences were that it sometimes lead to conflict with other tribes because they would fight over land or water sources. Tribes also did damage to the land when practicing methods such as slash-and-burn farming. The slash and burning method is cutting and burning trees, crops, and plantation. This method destroyed the soil, forests, and species and their habitats.
