Day 4: Continue building submarines with wooden blocks.
During this small group time, work on children seeing other group members details they are adding to their submarines. Also, adding music to experience. This will support their response to the imaginary play experience.

Note: On 2/15, my group used songs from the Brave heart soundtrack to expand their play. In this imaginary play experience, they saw humback whales, blue whales, sharks, and fish of all kinds swimming by their submarines. Also, when the music got a little louder and more serious, the children imagined that their were sea monsters near their submarines. So, they needed to escape and get to safe grounds. As some children were leaving this spot in the ocean, another child was protecting the submarines from the mean and icky sea monsters!
