While there is an obvious opportunity in sports photography to emphasize the movement of participants – almost every type of photography can benefit from the emphasis of movement in a shot – even when the movement is very small, slow and/or subtle. 

1. Slow Down Your Shutter Speed

The reason for movement blur is simply that the amount of time that the shutter of a camera is open is long enough to allow your camera’s image sensor to ‘see’ the movement of your subject. 

So the number one tip in capturing movement in an image is to select a longer shutter speed

Print a cyanotype by placing your negative (to reproduce a photograph) or object (to make a photogram) in contact with your coated paper or fabric. Sandwich it with a piece of glass. Expose the sandwich to UV light. Natural sunlight is the traditional light source, but UV lamps can also be used.

With Knowledge of this process, we where asked to reproduce this method by selecting our own image.
The image chosen was inverted. And by placing a thin transparent plastic over the image and printed.
Then placing the printed transparent picture on and over a paper coated with cyanotype material. We took the papers outside to expose the materials to sunlight.  Photosensitive to recreate  the process of a cyanotype blueprint.

Leading lines are the key compositional element that carries our eye through the photograph. They can be used to tell a story, to place emphasis, and to draw a connection between two objects. Use them creatively and with expressive purpose to help you tell your unique photographic tale.

This picture resonated with me as it's a simliar style, which I want to emulate with it's simplistic and balance feel. 
The use of normal camera setting to capture the Light. Has to be right setting  so the image taken is not over or underexposed.

One of the most common reasons people want to shoot in black and white today is because it lends a certain timeless quality to the images. This is because we still think of black and white as being a throwback to thephotographic past.

While living in Paris, the photographer criss-crossed the capital, whose great monuments became his first source of inspiration: “My idea was to revisit the classics, to give a different interpretation to places that have already been heavily photographed, by looking for a new angle or a unique light.” Definitively fascinated by cities, he has decided to pursue his photographic adventure in the great cities of the world, setting out to discover the streets of New York, Los Angeles, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Bangkok, Hong Kong, etc.

Julien Grondin’s compositions are characterized by high dynamics. Favoring long exposure times, bold framing, and twilight, the photographer literally sets the stage for the city, placing it at the center of a living whole. Light, whether natural or artificial, is omnipresent in his work, giving his photographs a dominant and sometimes spectacular “pop.” “Even more than the photos themselves, it is the cities and their immensity that attract me. Taking the time to feel the place where I am is very important to me, which is why my best photos are usually taken at the end of my first week there, and not before.”

To live his passion, Julien Grondin has decided to devote his life to travel. He began this new nomadic adventure at the beginning of April 2013, traveling the world with his girlfriend, looking for ever more spectacular images.

 Ever since he was young, he has been fascinated by far away countries and travelling, and spent some time in Africa, unknowingly retracing Monfried and Joseph Kessel’s footsteps when he was 10 years old in Djibouti, Ethiopia and Yemen.

He started taking photographs in 2006. Quickly, magazines and newspapers from all over the world like Geo, Nat Geo, Lonely Planet Magazine, etc began using his work for illustrations on North Korea, Papua New Guinea, the tribes of Ethiopia, etc.

In 2008, his work on the people of Papua is displayed at the prestigious VISA photojournalism festival in Perpignan.
