Today in History Herald we are going to talk abut the First Fleet. The First Fleet was when convicts were transported in ships of eleven where they would be sentenced to transport for seven or more years. The journey to Botany Bay, NSW, Australia took about eight months. After leaving England after a few moths the ships landed at Rio De Janeiro to pick up supplies such as food and water.

By then seven convicts had escaped to the bush, so Philip had decided to create rewards for the convicts so they won't decide to run away. The rewards were:

Conditional pardon-Convicts were set free but weren't allowed to go to England of Ireland.

Absolute Pardon-Convicts can return to Britan, England when served full sentence.

Ticket-Of-Leave: Convicts were set free before the end of their sentence and could own a piece of land and go to church.
