Students had to read close passages as well as complete a map showing the territories that were found/claimed. This is a creative learning style approach vs. having students color a map from a textbook. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Using technology to connect with other classrooms around the world. My sociology students have been learning about other classrooms around the world through websites such as Blogger. Blogger features many different classrooms around the world. This allowed the students to learn about the similarities as well as differences. Students were able to complete their research projects in our collab lab. <br><br>Aaliyah is using the digital tool "Prezi" is a great tool for presenting information. I gave students a list at the beginning of the year and they loved learning about the new tools! A lot of my students enjoyed using Prezi versus PowerPoint to showcase their research.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Padlet is great for bell ringers, exit tickets, or even starting a class discussion. I used Padlet for a bell ringer about World War II. The kids love being able to use their phones to answer the bell ringer versus the "old school" method. I also noticed when I used Padlet it created more conversations and then it would lead into class discussions as a whole. This was a great tool for engaging an entire group of students. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Flipgrid is a great tool to use in the classroom. I used this tool the very first day and the students loved it. They used Flipgrid to introduce themselves and complete their first activity in groups.<br><br>It was a big hit! I will certainly use this tool more in my class now that I have become more comfortable with it. So instead of using it as just an intro tool I will implement flipgrid into my daily lessons as well. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>BYOD- Bring Your Own Device<br><br>The students LOVE the HoverCam and it has been so helpful having it in the classroom! We use technology daily in my classroom. Our computer labs and collab labs are in high demand so when we are in the classroom we still find a way to use technology and make learning fun! <br><br>Shon is using the HoverCam to complete his webquest activity. I have a two personals tablets for the students to use, the HoverCam, and the majority of students bring their own devices. I love that we are able to use technology in our classroom every day.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My U.S. History class had an assignment using Discovery Education. For the assignment, they were to read the board I created about propaganda/progressive era. Students completed the assignment and were very engaged! The second part of the assignment the students had to create their own propaganda poster. (Topic list was given)<br><br>The kids turned in some awesome posters and I could tell the students really grasped the assignment from Discovery Ed. <br><br>Below is one of the posters my student turned in. </div>]]></description>
