         <description><![CDATA[<div>3 words:<br>extinction&nbsp;<br>restoring species&nbsp;<br>trophic cascade<br><br>2 learnings:&nbsp;<br>I learned that we can use unused lands such as abandoned farms (as stated in the video) to grow more trees and plants, provide more habitat locations for animals such as wolfs and mosses, and create conditions for other species to thrive. With this, species were able to work out their food chains and find a substitute for their prey such as wolves devouring coyotes leading to increases in rabbits and mice and this gives a more variety of food for hawks and weasels. Thus, the regrowing of reforestation has led to more habitats, more species to thrive, and more food and varieties for species to eat.&nbsp;<br><br>I also learned how if one level of the food chain falls, this also affects the rest of the levels (trophic cascade). Through rewilding, we will be able to undo the damages we caused to the ecosystem and reestablish species that were affected and driven out. In simple terms, rewilding is where we bring back the species that bring back dynamic processes and go back to the food chain.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>1 wondering:&nbsp;<br>I wonder if we could really bring back the extinct animals or the big animals we used to have.&nbsp;<br><br>Kaitlin Castrillo&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>3 words&nbsp;<br>Climate&nbsp;<br>Tipping points&nbsp;<br>Countdown (less time left)<br><br>2 learnings&nbsp;<br>I learned how we have less time left to do something to save the earth. The video states a lot of tipping points some countries have faced such as in Siberia, permafrost is thawing at dramatic scales, Greenland losing trillions of tons of ice, the Amazon rainforest is weakening and might start emitting carbon within 15 years, and West Antarctica may have overlapped with its tipping point. There are three threats to tipping points: sea level rise, stabilizing temperatures becoming harder, and if one crosses its tipping point, this causes others to stumble as well.&nbsp;<br><br>I also learned how it is all up to our decisions and actions to know if our world will fall apart after 10 years. Children are mostly aware of what is happening around us and are in "disbelief" about why our earth is in a bad state (not really bad).
