Automobiles and numerous other products are rapidly becoming camera-enabled, too. What can be achieved with these cameras is changing the way we interact with our devices and with each other. Leveraging one or multiple image sensors, these cameras generate data representing the three-dimensional space around the device, and innovators have developed products that transform this data into meaningful operations.

TITLE:Toward Realistic Hands Gesture Interface: Keeping it
Simple for Developers and Machines
Description:
The language is based on a
small set of basic propositions, obtained by applying four predicate types to the fingers and to palm center: direction, relative location, finger touching and finger folding state. This enables
easy development of a gesture-based interface, using coding constructs, gesture definition files or an editing GUI. The language
is recognized from 3D camera input with an algorithmic
pipeline composed of multiple classification/regression stages, trained on a large annotated dataset. Our experimental results
indicate that the pipeline enables successful gesture recognition with a very low computational load, thus enabling a gesture-based interface on low-end processors.

TITLE: Banking security system using hand gesture recognition
Description:
This paper presents hand gesture analysis for human-security system interaction. Hand gesture recognition consisted of five processes such as image acquisition, skin color information for recognizing hand gesture which is obtained from the arm region of the hand, background removal, canny edge detection and contour detection. This proposed system is used for the banking security and can be used for companies or at personal secured places for security purposes. We have evaluated an improved hand gesture recognition using web camera and successfully implemented a prototype for security in bank from robbery which is having a detection accuracy rate of 95.7%.

In particular, the study involved three autistic people and a therapist, and allowed us to report the potential of an avatar to communicate the interactivity and stimulate interaction with just a few directions to start, or not at all

Hand mask cues are shown to be crucial when analyzing a set of driver hand gestures (wheel/mobile phone grasp and no-grasp) in naturalistic driving settings. The proposed detection and localization pipeline hence can act as a general framework for real-time hand detection and gesture classification.

It has been applied in some fields successfully, especially in the form of game applications. Although people are filled with wonder at the new interaction, it has not replaced the traditional interaction, like keyboard and mouse. From the user experience point of view, gesture-based interaction has advantages which traditional interactive form cannot offer, but also shortcomings which people seem dissatisfied with. This thesis focuses on expressing user experience of gesture-based interaction by conducting interview method.

In the proposed recognition method, a set of hand gestures featured with diverse combination of open fingers and rotational angles can be recognized with quite stable performance in the proposed method. Finally, the recognized hand gesture is mapped into one of the pre-defined gesture commands.
