Donation

The prosocial behavior shown above is donation. I chose donating because this not only requires someone giving their time or resources to someone else but is designed to better the life of someone else, typically a stranger. I chose to highlight blood donation as I am going into the medical field. Donating blood requires many to overcome their fears of needles, and often schedule appointments to make this possible. Blood donation often saves other people's lives, so I see it as a very valuable prosocial behavior.

Volunteering

Volunteering is an important prosocial behavior to me because it involves taking time out of your personal life to help others. For me, I enjoy volunteering at the local food pantry because I get to help so many people in such a short time. I am very fortunate, so I find it vital to help out those who are less fortunate and have dealt with difficult life situations.

Acts of Kindness

I find acts of kindness to be a vital prosocial behavior in our daily lives. I think this is so important because by doing this, we can impact so many people in small ways. By simple actions such as carrying groceries in for the elderly, or holding the door open for someone else, we can positively impact so many people.
