As many young children, the poor children had to work and raise money for their family. Horrible and dangerous jobs were given to them such as House Service, Chimney sweep, Coal Mines, Factory jobs and others. Many children died doing this work because there were no supervisors in the room to keep an eye on the children. Some slept in machines because they had to work 11+ hours a day! Coal mines were dangerous too. Underground collecting coal was dangerous- explosions happened

Well for the poor, they had a very rough life. Some ended up in a work house or sometimes, early death. They got paid very little too. Oftenly, they would get paid 1 or 2 chillings depending on what type of work they did and how hard they did. hmmm... i wonder why Queen Victoria didn't step in for this problem..
