Families were devastated by the Black Death, children and parents were dying. The black death could wipe out a whole family or just leave one child to survive on their own. There may be just a few victims that were infected with the black death or a whole community could be. People who didn't want to be infected ran away but were probably told to go away by other communities who didn't want to take the risk of an infected person coming into their village. If someone in your family were to get infected it was likely that you would too be infected. Parents would be forced to abandon children to avoid their children getting the plague if the had got it. Orphans whose parents had been killed by the plague would have to scavenge for food on the streets. Also children who got the plague were kicked out of the house by their family so that there sibling or parents wouldn't get the disease but it is most likely that the parents and siblings had already been infected by the disease because if one person in the household had the plague it was most likely that everyone else in the house would have contracted the disease. There also were some good impacts that the plague had on society. Peasants got treated better as they got higher wages and more opportunities for employment as there wasn't enough people to work as they had been killed by the Back Death.
Image4:http://history-world.org/black_death.htm

How Black Death Got Spread

The spread of the plague started when a flea with bacteria bit a rat. When the rat dies other fleas fed upon the rat this means that all the fleas that fed on the infected rat that had the bacteria in their blood stream. In the middle ages people wouldn't have showers often and they would get many fleas on them. Because the fleas were infected if a human got bitten by one they would get the Black Death, this was just one of the ways that the Black Death was spread. The Black Death spread to Caffa due to mongol armies throwing corpses of infected people over the wall, this infected those in Caffa
Image7:http://rodentsolutioninc.com/rats-mice

The black death may have originated in China around the 13th century. It then was spread to Europe due to rats and fleas travelling on ships and along the Silk Road. In Europe the first place that was infected was Messina, Sicily on October in 1347 due to dead or dying people on Genoese ships that came to the harbour. In 1346 it had spread to parts of the Caspian Sea and the River Don and at the end of that same year it had travelled to the Black Sea. It then in 1347 the plague was spread to Constantinople and at the end of that year it had also gotten to Egypt and parts of the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Image2:http://worldmundo.tumblr.com/post/54713498758/spread-of-the-black-death-side-note-i-realize The picture below shows where the plague had spread from 1346-1351

People though that you would be infected by the plague through the air, so people would burn herbs and wood to prevent them from getting the Black Death. Also to prevent the plague from getting to them people would fill their houses with nice smelling flowers and they would put vinegar and rosewater on the ground of their houses. People also prayed to God and did other religious acts as they thought that if you had the Black Death it was a sign of the sins you had done. They also lanced the buboes to make the disease leave the body and they used leaches to suck out the disease from the person infected's blood.
Image6: http://listverse.com/2013/01/21/10-crazy-cures-for-the-black-death/

Because there was so many deaths of people due to the Black Plague it became hard to find anywhere to put there bodies. There was not enough consecrated ground to bury the bodies and the people in burial services couldn't keep up with amount of bodies that they had to bury so in some places they had to throw bodies into rivers or big pits were dug in which many bodies were put in and buried. Some bodies were just left out on the streets as there was nowhere else to put them. when coffins were out of stock people carried the corpses on boards or family members of the dead person had to carry the body to where it would be buried.
Image:https://thechirurgeonsapprentice.com/2014/11/20/death-is-all-around-us-the-plague-pits-of-london/

People believed that people got the plague because they had done the wrong thing by God. The Christian people would blame the Jews if they got the plague as they thought God was angry with the Jews for not being Christian. Jews were isolated and many jobs were closed to them and they were not allowed Christian servants or sell goods to Christians. There were massacres of Jews in the southern part of France. At chillion some Jews were put on trial in September 1348 and were charged with the poisoning of wells. In Germany Jews were burnt alive, the number of Jews killed in this period was around 16,000. There were 350 massacres during the Black Death, but by the end of 1351 the massacres had come to an end.

Image5:http://webs.wichita.edu/mschneegurt/biol103/lecture14/lecture14.html

A chronicler at the time called Agnolo di Tura said that in Sienna 50,000 people died due to the Black Death including 36,000 people who were old. Once the plague had gone there was apparently 10,000 people left. But others say it is unlikely that, that amount of people had died even though Sienna was hit hard by the Black Death. Modern historians have estimated that 20 million people died due to the Black Death in Europe which is one third of the population. Historians have also that estimated that 80 million people had died due to th Black Death in Asia, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East
Image3:http://www.history.com/topics/black-death

The black death was an epidemic disease that was caused by the bacterium Yersinia Pestis. People would get bitten by fleas which had the bacterium and they would become infected with the disease. The people infected would get buboes normally in the groin, under the armpit, on the neck or on the thigh that were black and the size of an egg. The black painful buboes is where the Black Death go its name from.
Image1:https://www.geneticliteracyproject.org/2015/08/27/black-death-plague-back-correction-never-left-thanks-evolution/
