Those three different approaches can be linked up as in order for someone to believe he needs to be presented with facts provided by knowledge and hence begin forming an opinion, in order for that to happen the individual must learn to put aside his bias and have an integrity towards the matter. Knowledge can be accomplished through interest to learn, to not move along the guidelines set for you and to make your own way after seeing reality from a more objective perspective that is not affected by a simple view that is stuck in your head without any information. An object that can back this idea would be Anne Frank’s Diary. As we know books are one of the first, and to this day, most known ways to save information and pass it on to the future without being able to change it. Books can be many times objective and unbiased towards the main point of the writing but they can also be manipulated. By reading books, or in this case, Anne Frank’s Diary, you can see what was happening in the world before you, how was the world, community and society constructed without, what seems in our eyes today, many necessary stuff to our existence and everyday life. How people used to coexist and what it was like living through a war, a mass extinction period and living under oppressing circumstances. This diary analyzed what Anne was going through, during one of the biggest and most frightening events in human history, and in this case it is a text that can show people what it was like living during that period and showing them the events of history from a different perspective, the one of a victim. By taking into account all of that, by reading such a text, you acquire knowledge. What you are reading may have been misinterpreted or purposefully changed in order to make more sense but you can still form a constructed and unbiased point of view, based on those texts.

Belief is more than personal, especially if you take into account religion. Religion is believed by some people to have been a fixture, so man can give reason and answers to questions that they couldn’t answer themselves, with the data and information they had at the time. Because of this lack of information and knowledge people started developing and worshipping this being that had all the answers they were looking for, and could “back up” disasters and situations that couldn’t be explained, especially in past years. An object that could back up this claim and display the difference between belief and knowledge, would be the Bible. The Bible appears in the form of an anthology, a compilation of texts of a variety of forms that are all linked by the belief that they are collectively revelations of God. Many religious people around the world base their beliefs on the writings and events that are written and mentioned in The Bible, but is that really enough. The Bible is believed to have been heavily manipulated by priests and Popes before reaching our hands, and was shaped to show the best possible image of Jesus and one that does not contradict what he “believed” and “said”. That is why belief can be heavily based on personal ideology, and not truth and evidence. The Bible does provide evidence on many occasions, for Christianity, and if you base your belief on those writings, you technically have a full picture and formed belief and opinion, but what you are reading and believing may be based on what someone else thought would be best for you to believe in. So, the Bible shows that belief can be reinforced by knowledge but it comes down to what the individual wants to believe and wants to be true.

Last opinion, since it is a personal belief that is not backed by knowledge or proof but is a judgement and perspective that you have developed, involving bias and personal background, is either harder or easier to distinguish. An object that supports this statement is a red coloured phone. Any colour could back up this statement, this is because everything we see in our lives is affected by our perspective. So in the case of colors, the red phone for example, to someone who’s vision is “normal” and doesn’t display any sort of difficulties, he would see it as red as he is used to. But in the case of a colour blind person, he would either see it as a different colour, for his whole life, or he wouldn’t be able to distinguish between colours and their differences. So if someone, suddenly, told them that what they have been seeing this whole time is not actually “right”, it wouldn’t make a difference to them as they already have formed an opinion and perspective, and they would perceive the red colour as what they have been seeing the whole time. This also shows that even the things we think we know may be affected by our opinions and perspectives, that implies that we can’t have knowledge for sure, but we can have beliefs and opinions formed by our own personal bias.
