This was the first question I asked on my survey as I wanted to get a feel of how much the average person knew about Greek mythology. I felt as if the information was important as it will let me know what symbolism is important to include in my FMP, as if not much is known I should keep in the classic symbols — like Poseidon’s trident.

The majority (19 people) selected the option ‘Meh, barely’, informing me that not much is known about the wonders of ancient Greek mythology to the average person. This tells me that I should also use my FMP to educate people on the tales, especially the ones that have helped mould modern society.

The next appropriate question I asked was about the knowledge of the Gods of Olympus and even though the majority had previously voted for the option that stated they barely knew things about Greek mythology, the majority this time voted for the option that confirmed that they knew of the 12 Gods of Olympus (60%). 

This surprised that people knew of the 12 Gods of Olympus however did not consider that basic knowledge — this tells me that some would consider this common knowledge. That information just shows how influential and relevant Greek mythology is in the modern day.

When doing my primary research I decided to look into my previous self portraits and the different aspects I took into consideration before shooting. The two main factors for this shoot was the position I was bending my body in and the different lighting choices would the angles the best.

When taking into consideration the lighting for this shoot I’d like to go for something heavenly and soft, to not overpower the subject of the pictures - the Gods.
