I use PowerPoint presentation to narrow down the content and also it always animated visuals for learners to understand better. WhatsApp I use because from my school most leaners are from poor background and so the least they can afford is whatsapp data especially for appointments we have to discuss any clarities or misconceptions or alternative ways to facilitate learning moment for learners. MyQuiz I used it for assessment mostly but its been a struggle because  data is still an issue but I intend to use siyavula since its zero-rated in some networks. Plickers has always been my favourite, but lockdown regulations at my school did not allow movement of leaners so setting up for period reduced has been one of the challenges. I am currenty using the Mindstream for Natural resources its helps alot with obtaining question banks for learners and with practical activities. This helps and trains learners be exposed in different types of questioning that is on par with the department of education. Another online resourse is the siyavula website, you are able to access notes, worksheets and quizzes to further engage the learner knowledge capacity. D6 was already part of our communication platform with our parents and was used more extensively during lockdown with the uploading of activities and links.
We also investigated Moodle - redesigned and renamed it in order for all grades (grade R to grade 12) to upload weekly planning, activities, links, assignments etc.
Since the start of 2021 educators are uploading their weekly planning, activities and links unto Tutor (Moodle). As phase heads we have also uploaded all our filing onto Tutor.
Our educators (myself included) have started 4 YouTube channels to upload videos and power points for children all over to use.
We are also using WhatsApp, with great success. Communication is immediate with parents, as well as videos of learners reading and building and making projects.
We started to use Zoom and went onto Microsoft Meet later to host parent meetings (class and whole school). I also had Zoom meetings once a week with my class to chat with them and to share events.
We used Inshot to make short videos with regards to return to school, dress code and ways of greeting.
Our grade 3's used Google forms to gather information and to set tests.

I am teaching grade 1's and loved all the different types of technology I could use to make my lessons interesting.

Currently I upload my weekly planning onto D6, Tutor (Moodle) and WhatsApp parent group.
We do this as classes get sent home to isolate. Our school informs parents via D6 communicater of all events and sudden changes during the day.  

I have also had a little exposure to Telegram, Zoom and Moodle via my son in the High School and I have attended meetings via Meet and Teams,  but I have only been on the receiving end of information here and had a little experience of uploading tasks. Other than that, these platforms are not familiar to me and I have definitely not hosted any of these meetings yet.   I would like to learn about Google Classroom and Microsoft teams, or for that matter, I am interested to find out which of the available platforms will suit my needs and that of my learners the best. I use WhatsApp more often to send learning material to learners who are in isolation. It is affordable (does not use a lot of data) and easy to use. It is easily accessible, a lot of people are using it. It has group and broadcast functions where one can send information to a lot people at the same time. However, I find it limiting in the sense that one does not get active participation from all learners and reasons given by some of the learners are that of network problems or insufficient data. As a result, I have found myself having to repeat the same lessons during the face-to-face lessons. The other con is that the App is not very interactive. It is also easy for learners to lose information on WhatsApp if they change phones or delete the App without backing up messages.

Microsoft PowerPoint on the other hand has worked wonders in my classroom. Since I introduced it my lessons, learners are more interested, focused and eager to learn. The general performance of learners has improved tremendously. One disadvantage with PowerPoint is that it is a one way flow of information. It is not interactive.

With the projector in my classroom, I am also able project YouTube videos for my Natural Science lessons and learners love it.

The only problem that I have experienced so far are learners who are  claiming .network problems or data .but I tried to let them get the work physically ehenbthey cone to school

Matiso. Since last year 2020, I have been using Whatsapp with my learners. For  my learners and I, this platform was the most accessible and user friendly. Through Whatsapp, I am able to interact with the learners and they also interact with each other. I share information in the form of documents, videos and voice notes. Learners are also able to communicate with me if they are uncertain about a certain topic, by sending me a whatsapp message. The biggest challenge regarding this for me, is definitely the issue of data and network coverage. It is easy and simple to use.
