Breakout groups/rooms allow students to be put into smaller groups to talk over topics and work through problems together. There are a few different features like whiteboard mode and chat that allow students to share their screens and draw out their solutions together or talk within the chat.

Miro is a tool where students can simultaneously work on anything together. It is similar in concept to breakout rooms within Zoom but has more features like being able to upload onto a single page and write, draw, chat, and video chat all in one space. What is on the page can also be saved and worked on continuously unlike on Zoom.

Floop

Floop is my favorite tool and think it is one that could be the most beneficial for an accounting class for several reasons. First, you can upload an image of your scratch work and ask questions to both your peers and professors. They have the opportunity to point out exactly on the page where there was an error and can provide both written and voice feedback.

I think Miro would be an excellent tool to connect with other professors. Professors could upload their syllabus or lesson plans and video chat with other professors and get inspiration or ideas from what has worked for other professors. Everyone can make a comment or explain right there what has worked and even upload links for videos or their own lesson plans.

GroupMe is a messaging app that is a good place for students to communicate with one another. It was a place to ask questions to one another that maybe we did not feel comfortable asking the professor or if you are studying late like most college students, you can ask then whereas a professor probably stops checking their email once they get home in the evening. You can also upload media there as well.
