Also, street food is so cheap and fast, fast food has never been able to really take off in Vietnam due to competition :P. An example of folk culture in Vietnam is basket weaving and boats due to Vietnam's fishing culture as it is surrounded by water. Another famous example is that conical hat used to protect the wearer from heavy sun and heat during fishing or farming called Nón Lá. And obviously you won't see some random British man wearing that haha.

The food of Vietnam is mainly savory but it can also be sweet! They like mild and balanced flavors and also believe in "hot" and "cold" food. (My dad told me not to eat too much rambutan I think because he told me it was hot food even though it was refrigerated fruit) Pho is a balanced broth with rice noodles, veggies, and meat like beef or pork. It is tasty and savory but does not have a strong flavor such as sweetness or sourness, it is usually eaten for lunch and dinner. Another popular food is bahn mi, a sandwich filled with veggies and meat, usually beef. This is usually eaten for breakfast or lunch and not dinner (I love Viet Soul Bahn Mi).
