This article was about how caffeinated drinks are affecting teens. Caffeine affects your anxiety, makes tonight's sleep worse, and make performing well in school tomorrow difficult. It can also inhibit your body from absorbing important nutrients, and dehydrate your cells. Caffeine is considered an drug It's a chemical that changes brain function. Caffeine has a bigger affect on children then it does than a adult. Kids drink it to be less tried for schooo but it affects them the next day because caffeine only lasts 7 hours a day.

Should teenagers go trick-or-treating?Lexi G

This article was about the age that teens should stop trick-or-treating. A lot of people said that all teens are disrespectful and they should hand out there own candy instead of trick-or-treating. The majority of people though said that they hand out candy to anyone. The maximum age that most people said was 12-16 is when you should stop. I think that there is a certain age where you should stop trick-or-treating but I think you should stop when you feel your to old for it. Not all teens are disrespectful and the people who don’t even open their doors for teens aren’t even giving those teens a chance. They say all teens are rude but do they really know if they don’t even talk to them.

Will partisanship in Florida rear its ugly head in aftermath of hurricane? Sassa

The article I read was about how the hurricane in Florida could affect the upcoming midterm elections. In 2014 when hurricane sandy hit both parties came together and worked as a whole to get the state back up on its feet. This time around the politicians took a different approach . The current governor of Florida Rick Scott has responded well to the hurricane because he has been in office when they have hit before , and experts say that this could help when people are re-electing because he has experience. Although scott had an experience in dealing with hurricanes so did Andrew Gillium , who works in Tallahassee. Most people don’t believe that he handled the last hurricane well so that has affected his chances in this election. Lastly there is a man named Nelson who is Rick Scott’s opponent. He took a completely different approach than Gillium and Scott , taking this opportunity to talk about climate change and the environment, which seemed to sway voters. This article is important because it makes one wonder if the environment (or something like a hurricane ) should affect politics , and if they do in what way. To sum it up everyone’s perspectives have changed on the politicians since the hurricane , but in the meantime the politicians are still just trying to get votes .

Doing this will mean that trans people will not be as protected. This is saying that you can’t change who you are. They are basically telling people that they can’t be themselves. This is important because people who want to be themselves they can’t be themselves.

I read the article “In Italy, archaeologists discover ancient children's ‘vampire burial’ site”. It talks about this ten year old child that some archeologists found buried in the ground in Italy. Based on DNA testing, they know that the child died of malaria. The child was buried with a stone in it’s mouth. I later found out that this is to prevent it coming back from the dead and spreading the disease even more. For me, this article wasn’t so much scary or eerie like it described it as in the text, but more interesting learning about how people felt things should be handled back then.

Ah, yes, Fortnite, the game you either love or are sick of hearing about. Fortnite is a free video game, however has made more money than some of the extremely popular games such as Call Of Duty: WWII. This money is all made by the enormous amount of people who play it and buy different customizations for the game. So many teens play it, and it was said in the article that it helped him make new connections with friends. Is this important information? Not entirely, but it is certainly an interesting insight into it’s success and why it’s so addictive and popular. -Cas M.

Yesterday mid day a t-6 Texan training aircraft crashed into the 101 freeway in California. The pilot was rescued by CHP and LAPD officers from the burning wreck. This caused traffic to come to a standstill, the plane was marked and painted like a Germ focke wolf 190 fighter plane from ww2 as it was part of a historical flight group. No was was hurt in the accident and the FAA are going to further investigate the crash. This is important because the pilot most likely saved lives by crashing where he did instead of in surrounding high population cities.

A young girl in Sweden was in a lake with her family when she found a sword in the water. This sword is possibly about 1,500 years old. This was an Iron Age sword and had been well preserved. It was about 33 inches long. Now a museum in Sweden has this sword. I find it crazy how for about 1,500 it has been in this lake and no one had found it until recently. I also find it interesting that a little girl found it when she was playing in a lake with her family and not an archeologist.

The rates of kids who are bullied have gone up weighing the past 10 years. It is affecting people of ages 8-20. Many parents say it is a part of growing up. But it isn’t. Bullying is one of the main causes of mental health issues that kids should not have to deal with. There are 3 types of bullying. Verbal, Physical, and Cyberbullying. Verbal bullying isn’t really dealer with at most schools. Physical will result in consequences though. Cyberbullying isn’t really the schools job to deal with but if they have to deal with it they would. Overall Bullying isn’t taken as serious as it should be. It is causing kids to feel unsafe at school.

It affects mood, cognition or behavior.Caffeine is also bad for your heart, it can cause anxiety and decrease impulse control. You would be surprised how much caffeine is in things that you might drink daily. A medium Dunkins Donuts iced coffee has 297 mg of coffee. A 5 hour energy shot contains 200 mg of caffeine. The government takes at least half because of 6our taxes and what you owe theme. Then theirs also the lottery tax it self that takes alot. If the person was smart they wouldn’t blow threw their money and even if they weren't they would have to spend quite a bit to go bankrupt. Plus if you were trying to be smart and spend it to support businesses make sure to pay some one who knows about this kind of stuff or you would be loosing a lot.

The lotter was over 1.5 billion dollars. But you don’t get all of it, and you shouldn’t spend all of it. What happens is once you win, the government will actually take a decent chunk of it. Also, you shouldn’t spend it all because of all the tax. Here is a paragraph from the passage, “Assuming the winner is in her 30s, she would have about 45 years or so to spend the single after-tax sum of, let's say, $900 million. That means she would have to spend a bit less than $20 million a year or roughly $55,000 per day to burn through it all. She would have to spend even more when you remember that money grows with interest in the bank. “

In this article it talks about Miyuki who is a Amezaiku artist. Amezaiku is an old Japanese tradition of taking melted candy and making them into shapes and other things like animals. Miyuki was a newspaper writer before she was a candy artist, this is because she recently got a divorce and needed a new job. In an article she found a teacher that could be able to traditional teach her Amezaiku. When she found Takeo Kimura he said he did not want to teach a women because traditionally the males learned the art of Amezaiku but never less she persisted and he taught Miyuki. Miyuki was the first female that was traditionally trained by a teacher of the art. When she completed the training she was called by Disney and moved to Florida with her daughter to peruse the job. Later in her life she quit her job at Disney and now works in New York and makes candy sculptures for special events. Over Miyuki is a very special women that show everyone that persistence is key to success.

But someone won it in South Carolina would you think I just one 1.5 millions dollars well the winner was to millions of dollars in taxes. If you when then you can pick if you want all the money now or to get checks every month for the next 30 years. This dession is what makes many people bankrupt they take all the money at ounce and then think they have too much money and they end up losing it all. For example Huntington Hartford one the lottery when we was just a little kid when we won 90 million dollars now when your young you probably just want to spend it all wich I would too. Put he ended up losing all his money in 30 years. When you when lottery be smart with your money.

The super bowl is a game of the two best teams that compete for a Lombardi trophy. Originally the game was about the football and Football only, but as years grew the halftime shows started to become more popular instead of university marching bands. Entertainment continued to takeover the super bowl when companies such as Apple started competing for commercials. The game was now mostly watched for the commercials and halftime shows or even the star spangled banner. Who knows if the super bowl will ever just be Super Bowl Sunday again, but things aren’t looking that way for the future. ~Connor Hill

The biggest was in 2016 reaching up to 1.58 billion. This was a huge event because people all over America were buying the tickets. There was a one out of 303 million chance of winning. But it turned out the lottery had to be sent in little checks that go for 30 years until it is finally 1.53 billion. Also people had to pay tax for it and if they lived in a no lottery tax state, the government will take 217 million. This was a huge upset. The lesson is to not spend all your money because it can be wasted easily.
