Since my campaign was about getting children #BacktoSchool in physical classrooms, mothers would be a key target audience for the social media iteration of this advocacy campaign. One major objective of the campaign was to provide mothers with the medical evidence and data they needed to feel better about the lower risks of serious illness facing children compared to adults who contracted Covid-19 and the low level of hospitalization among children. Convincing mothers was a key part of securing widespread agreement to re-open schools and actually send children back to class, since the constant fear messaging driven home throughout the pandemic had made many mothers state publicly online that they would not allow their children to re-enter classrooms even if schools re-opened.

Government Officials -- the communications objective is building inclusive digital economies and strengthening digital inclusion through digital transformation. Government officials are a key target audience for the work we do, identified in our annual comms strategy. They are selected here because they're a key driver of the work we do. Much of the sector innovations we drive will eventually seek policymakers approval. If the policymakers are aware of the campaign objectives and the key messages they are more likely to engage better with the content and to move along with us to move the implementation forward. While they may not be very active on social media, they will still be able to influence the discussion and interact with those who are active on social and thus be able to share our content and activities.

Though looking at WFP's work currently, it would be good if we could advocate for the maintenance of the climate-resilient infrastructure that we've built for the communities. It would be more sustainable if the local authorities, the community leaders and villagers are more enthusiastic and know how to maintain and participate to sustain the infrastructure.
