This video shows a CCTV camera catching a phone being thrown off its hook in a restaurant-inn. Though the phone is shown in many angles, and the way the phone flies off the hook is very strange, there could be a logical explanation for this. The phone may not have been placed properly, and eventually fell, or there's a possibility that the phone was rigged in order to play a joke, or for more publicity to the inn. The video could call for confirmation bias, as the inn is known to be one of the most haunted inns in the country. It could also fall under the unexplained, as conclusions could be made simply because of the lack of an answer.

This article talks about how ghosts are real because people have had personal experiences with them. They state that you cannot know that they are real unless you have had a personal experience of a ghost. I understand this to a certain extent, "to see is to believe" for a lot of people, but whether you believe that you have experienced a ghost does not mean that you have actually experienced a ghost. This would be based on perception, as to whether you think that you have seen a ghost. Also, in the case that was stated in an article, a girl thought that her grandfather was contacting her in her sleep, but this could be because she was emotionally attached to this idea that her dead grandfather was still around. Unfortunately, sometimes people confuse their experiences with their bias and what they would like to believe.

In this image, we see a supposed spirit in the bottom right corner of the window. Due to our natural instinct to find patterns in things, this could be caused by patternicity. There could also be the explanation of the photo being staged; without critically thinking that there could be a motive behind the image, someone could just blindly believe that it is simply a ghost and there is no other explanation.

If you scroll down to the video in this link you will find another CCTV capturing some spooky things happening in an empty school hallway. We see chairs being lifted, sliding across the floor, a bag being thrown off a shelf and a poster being torn from a wall. I am not sure of the backstory behind the school haunting, but if you were to watch this video without any idea as to how these events occurred, someone could simply say that it is ghosts or because the events are unexplained, find a simple explanation for them, which would be that the school is haunted by a ghost. There could be some trickery at play in this video.

Post # 6: WEBSITE - Why do people believe in ghosts?

In this article, the author is talking about and asking the questions as to why people believe in ghosts. She goes over a couple scenarios that she has seen for herself. She tells us and shows us a photo that her friend showed her on her phone. It was a photo of a little boy holding leaves and looking at the ground and in the photo slightly to the left of the little boy was another lighter silhouette of the boy and his hands were in a different position. This picture was taken on the iPhone and everyone was amazed. The author herself also had a photo of her friend hugging her dog in her apartment. In the top left of this photo, there was a man, when in reality no one else was in the room but them. I feel like the red flag that supports all this is unexplained. We don't really know what these are for sure and we have no real explanation of what was going on. We only have our thoughts and feelings towards them.

In this photo, there is spooky figure circled in the window. The back story is that the building is empty and when they went to investigate as to whether someone was in the building after they saw the picture, they could not find anyone. This could be patternicity, or the group could have overlooked a simple explanation because the idea was creepy and their first thought was that it could be a ghost. Therefore, they would confirm their bias if they found no one in the building, but there is a possibility that this was set up, or there was someone in the building who left before they saw the picture.

Post # 8: VIDEO - Kitchen Ghost debunked

In the video provided down below, we get to see the youtuber debunk the video of the kitchen ghost. The original video shows the person living in the house leaving and then about 40 minutes later all of the things start flying off of the shelves and opening and closing. The youtuber helps debunk this video by saying all of this is very possible with wires and editing. why was the footage cut instead of sped up? Why was there reflections changed and chairs missing? All of these questions are asked to see if this video really is the truth or not. I believe this correlates with patternicity. I believe that we are looking for patterns and things for our brains to make sense of it all. When we see all of the pots flying that is a clear thing happening but our brains look for an explanation. We look for shadows and reflections to make ourselves believe and even the slightest glare from the sun could convince our brains it is real.

I chose to write about one of the stories in the article below. It is on the shorter side of the stories. it is called the unseen patient. The story is about two EMTs in the ambulance on an overnight shift. They were dozing off when one of them heard mumbling. He told his co-worker shhh because he was sleeping. The next thing they knew they heard a scream saying "am I dying?" and then oxygen tanks opening up. They woke up fairly quick and hopped out of the ambulance. When they checked the back no one was there. I believe this was the red flag of unexplained. I believe this because there is no real explanation for what they heard. There is so much going on that we cant tell whats real or not. They stated they were both sleeping prior, what if they were tired and hallucinated. Or were so sleepy and drowsy they thought they heard something they didn't. There is no way is proof of this or a scientific explanation.

In the image, between the chair and a door, you can see a child's face. This is definitely another example of patternicity. If there are no children in your house, it is more likely that you are seeing a pattern in the shadows, than a ghost. This one is hard to see unless it is pointed out, therefore, I believe that the only explanation is patternicity.
