In Little Rock, Arkansas the school board planned to gradually desegregate schools. When 9 African American students tried to enter Central High School, the national guard stopped them and an angry white formed and stopped them from entering the building. </div>]]></description>

This bill gave the attorney general power to make civil rights lawsuits and to protect the voting rights of African Americans. The bill wasn't&nbsp;perfect but it has symbolic importance.</div>]]></description>

This was in protest to Rosa Parks getting thrown off of a bus and arrested after refusing to give up her seat for a white passenger. In 1956, after over a year of not riding the buses, the supreme court ruled that the law the segregated buses was unconstitutional.  </div>]]></description>

On the way they broke segregation rules by sitting in the front of the bus and using "White Only" restrooms. When they got to Alabama one of the buses was firebombed and when the second bus arrived a white mob attacked the group.</div>]]></description>

He explained the struggles of not having the same rights as white people&nbsp;and said that if they didn't have the same rights they would understand they are tired of waiting.</div>]]></description>
