Being happy with the people i love and doing the things i love doing. Basically being happy and content in life. It might seem easy but in fact, finding what truly makes us happy is not as easy as it seems. Even if we know what we want, there are just factors that makes us not have these. There are even some cases where people does not know what they really want in life. We all have our own views and how we perceive a certain thing. Not everyone see eye to eye and not everyone thinks alike. Based on the video, some say that their purpose is to become known and others say that theirs’ is to contribute positive impact to society. Yet I realized that despite the differences in the answers of people when it comes to their life’s purpose, all these answers can be under a general answer that others may still not know. I think our purpose in life is to go back to God as we are programmed to find our way back to be with Him at the end of time. This answer may seem a little vague to others as most do not know their way on how to come back to God, but I learned that our purpose is connected to what makes us truly happy and self-fulfilled. God has given us various ways on how we can make ourselves truly happy such as following the Divine Beatitudes and the Commandments set by Him as these will truly fulfill the desires of our heart. What only makes this truth difficult for us to see is that we are blinded by temporal and material things that we, often, are misguided that our purpose is to achieve fame, wealth and power. 

        Before I took this course, my purpose was just similar to everyone else’s answer to their purpose in life. I thought mine was to be successful in my own career and to be financially abundant that I can finally spoil my family with the luxuries they want. But then, as I go through this course, I was able to realize that my latter purpose would just accomplish and satisfy my physiological and safety need, my desire for love and my self-esteem. I soon was able to internalize that my latter purpose is not sufficient enough for me to achieve self-actualization and for me to accomplish my true purpose. Little did I know that my and everyone’s purpose was to come back to God. Perhaps, the reason behind other people’s difficulty of knowing and answering their purpose is because of their bewilderment and confusion which were brought by the ways that this world offers, and that it is because of this that they were not able to choose and determine which way would lead them to their purpose. I am grateful that through this course, I was able to find the only way to my purpose and that is through Christ. It is through striving to be our personal absolute that we are able to accomplish our purpose for Christ is the way to God. I, now, know that it is not achieving temporal, earthly and material desires that is the key to accomplishing our purpose in life and to finally achieve the self-actualization that we longed for. It is, therefore, simply following His commandments, being the ideal Imago Dei through considering the Divine Beatitudes and having Christ as our role model that we can finally achieve our purpose for He is our personal absolute and our way back to our home.

       Personally, my desire for happiness is to simply achieve my purpose in life, for our happiness can never be separated from our purpose. I believe that we can only be permanently, and authentically be happy when we have accomplished what God has wired us to be our purpose. It is through Christ, our personal absolute, that we can go back to God. Any way, other than Christ’s would just simply lead us nowhere.

I would talk about how my purpose in life is to be a part of something bigger than myself. To contribute to society, to care for the people I love, to make my stay here in the world worthwhile. I would’ve given vague and general answers because I tend to not think about it too much because overthinking leads to so many thoughts and I personally am a person who cannot organize her thoughts as they come in and out of my brain in a speed that overwhelms me. Now, after taking this course, I’m thankful that I get to explore more of this question and give a more well thought answer, be it relating to the lessons or just from personal experience. What I think my purpose in life now is still the same as to what I would’ve said before but I now have a deeper understanding of it. And after the lessons I’ve been taught, I learned that my purpose is to live my life according to His image and achieve the goals that He has set for me. My purpose is to follow the path He has given me for it will lead me back home to Him. Although I still don’t believe that I am a person whose faith is as strong as the others and take to heart the lessons I’ve been taught, it is nice to widen my perspective and learn more before deciding for myself. 

I believe people tend to have different answers for this since we all have our own minds and we all think differently. We all believe in different things and even if these things are similar, they never tend to be the exact same. We all have our own perspectives and I personally find that beautiful. It makes this world diverse and it shows ho each and everyone of us have our own thoughts in everything. 

My happiness, I think, is connected to the purpose that I know of. I can achieve happiness by fulfilling the purpose I have. And even during times that I feel like I won’t be achieving my goals any time soon, I am still glad that I get to take the journey because though it isn’t ultimate happiness, and along with the pain and struggles, I still feel joy with the steps I take toward the goal that I am going to.

It is because if I were to base it on my beliefs before, I would certainly think that there will be no concrete and definite answer for this question. The old me would probably answer that my purpose in life is to give back to my parents, give relevant contribution to our society, be a successful person, and to help those people who are in need or less fortunate.

All of us has different views and perspectives in life and there are various factors which could affect the way we perceive our purpose in life. However, if I were asked now about my purpose in life, I am sure that I can answer this question without having any second thoughts because as we are taking our Theology class for this semester, I have learned what my true purpose in life is and that is to go back to God. Moreover, as we were taking this course, I also have learned how to reflect deeply and how to connect our lessons and apply it on my experiences in life.

In the video, some answered that their purpose is to contribute to the society the best way they know how, to create a family, to make the planet a better place than it was previously, to glorify God in a daily basis and work to become better and fulfill the potential God has given when he created us, to be happy and to make the people around us happy, to help another person, and to worship a lot and work for God. Some even said that there is no specified meaning or a purpose and that everyone comes up with that for themselves. For my case, I would probably be answering the question by also saying that there is no specification for it. However, my perspective changed by taking our Theology course. I was enlightened on things I were less familiar before. Questions I never imagined I’ll encounter were answered so easily about my existence, my purpose, and more about Jesus. 

It is a fact that it is hard to continue existing in this wicked world without knowing what is our purpose. Why are we still here? Does the world need our presence? And so, I am lucky that we have a course that will somehow help us answer these questions more meaningfully. I have learned that my purpose is about the concept of a homing pigeon. Whatever place I may reach, I will end up taking the only path back to God. Just like any other person God has given to life, I am made for him and so my heart can never find rest until it rests in him just like what Saint Augustine has said. It was God who gave the absolute meaning to my life. For this reason, as a creation of God, I am called to know, love and worship him with all my strength and mirror Christ as he’s an example for all of us to follow for he revealed what is true and good about us human beings. 
Other people are having a hard time realizing their purpose because they have not yet let God enter into their lives. They haven't met God and his ultimate son. Their focus are still with the material and worldly things out there and so they are having difficulties in answering the question about their existence. 

For me, I am lucky to have fully known my purpose because I can find happiness as I fulfill it at present. I feel grateful and happy as I continue my journey through life by knowing that as long as I am reminded on why do I exist which is to live according to his image, I am armed to battle anything that comes along my way back to God.
