A huge amount of that is, in our opinion, products that were unnecessarily made. For example, even though shops nowadays have been trying to cut back on them, there is still a large number of plastic shopping bags that are made, used, and then immediately thrown away every year. The same applies to paper tissues, plastic and glass bottles, and many more.
Another issue is that products are not made to last longer than the warranty date. This is most notable in modern technology such as phones, tablets, and computers. Most companies stop releasing updates and new content for devices to convince people to buy the newest version of their products. Also, there have been dozens of cases in which products were built to stop functioning just as the warranty expired.
A lot of the rubbish produced could also be recycled, but seeing as it is not cost-efficient to do so, it is just thrown away and ends up polluting nature. A well-known example of this would be the plastic islands in the Pacific Ocean, where millions of tons of plastic and other trash has accumulated into a dense soup twice the area of the United States of America.

This could be possibly avoided by recycling all the products that we know how to; however, in our opinion, it would be even better to limit the amount of rubbish we produce and have to recycle by making the products more durable. Even though this would help solve the problem, it is a risky solution, as more durable products would also take more time to decompose in nature.
