Despite doing well, the nation didn’t “distribute tourism profits throughout society” which created income inequality, people living in poverty and expansion of drug cartels and deaths.

This article reminded me of the United Nations because Mexico did everything opposite from them, although they create more jobs, they weren't in clean or safe environment. It was the country’s choice to make development and didn’t involve the community.

Britain has over 8,008 other firms in the country already, and is waiting for FCA to authorize some of the 30,000 consumer credit forms.

This article reminds me of multinational companies who are in more than one country, are trying to be accessible, are seeking assets and are trying to find ways to expand. There is an interrelationship between the countries and one is usually benefiting more than the other.

The wealthiest countries will continue to grow, while countries like China, who have taken high debts for development, should “limit growth in credit”.

In reference to the Bretton Woods Conference (1944), they discuss how the IMF is meant to create stability and governance and require states to act in the best interest of the global order. Even though countries are improving, if they fall in debt, it can create problems for the global order.

https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2017/10/11/world/asia/ap-as-china-foreign-aid.html

China is the second country, that lends the most grants and loans to developing countries, a total of $354.4 billions in the last 15 years (US being firsts $394.6 billion). They export credits to other countries and help improve economic growth. China is becoming more like the US and Western countries.

This article reminds me of W.W. Rostow’s Modernization Theory because China is trying to expand, by watching examples of the rich Western countries in hopes to be the same. It competes with the US in money lending (since there is a big demand), and is trying improve its economic growth.

They want to create a ban by 2019 to increase development in hopes of being able to compete in the golab market.

This article is relevant because it relates to Alexander Gerschenkron’s view on less developed countries, who need to protect their domestic economy and not import. Instead citizens should specialize on something, become experts and eventually export and slowly get more developed.
