Hence they would not be able to pass through the cell Mebane. Thus, it has to be digested so that it can be broken down into small units which are glucose, amino acids, fatty acode and glycerol so that they can be absorbed by the small intestine and enter the bloodstream.
- Imraan

Nutrition is the process in which organisms obtain food and energy for growth, repair and maintenance of the body. There are 5 processes:
1. Ingestion
2. Digestion
3. Absorption
4. Assimilation
5. Egestion

Digestion is the breaking down of large insoluble nutrients into small water-soluble substances so they can be absorbed into the bloodstream.
Absorption takes place when digestion is completed at the small intestine, nutrients are carried by the bloodstream from the small intestine to all parts of the body.
Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats are large molecules, they cannot pass through the cell membrane, thus, they need to be broken down into their simplest and smallest units which are glucose, amino acids, fatty acids and glycerol respectively so that they can be absorbed at the small intestive and enter the bloodstream.
The alimentary canal includes mouth, oesophagus, small intestine, stomach, large intestine, 🤬 and 🤬, while the associated organs are gall bladder, liver and pancreas. The associated organs help with the process of digestion and the alimentary canal is a passage way where food passes through.

-kimberly
