I picture Arctic communities, living alongside. and with, the ice, icebergs and the cold. I want to see these communities and the nature that surrounds thrive.

Another thing that makes me come alive is to think what I am leaving and passing onto my kids. When Kao Kalia's quoted her dad, I realised that I should tell more inspiring stuff to my kids instead of simply reminding them to tide up their room.

However, over time, I’ve felt my standards shaken by the heartbreaking reality unfolding before me—the end of humanity for women and girls in Afghanistan. Witnessing their rights being stripped away and their freedoms denied has been devastating. And yet, this very injustice fuels my energy even more. The freedom of women is what inspires and energizes me the most.

And strangely, the first thing I recall isn't a protest, event or even a victory, but a late-night team meeting. We would meet weekly after lectures, around 8-9pm, tired but never missing a single one. That night, we stayed up until 3 am, we’d been attacked by a far-right group (again). We had to draft a statement, send out tweets, and plan our response with our minds already heavy. I was exhausted physically and worn by the endless threats. But God, I loved those meetings, there was something comforting in our shared fatigue, our laughter slipping through half-serious half-ridiculous  conversations. We were joking about how we were the only ones awake, while our opponents slept soundly on both ears. It warmed my heart how none of us hesitated to trade sleep for solidarity, how we met hardship with light hearts and sincerity. And strangely, those nights made me feel alive.
