The Lion and the Mouse

One day, a mighty lion was sleeping under a tree in the jungle. A little mouse, running through the grass, accidentally ran across the lion’s nose, waking him up.

The lion grabbed the tiny mouse with his paw and growled, "How dare you disturb my sleep? I’m going to eat you!"

The frightened mouse begged, "Please spare my life, O King of the Jungle! If you let me go, I promise to repay your kindness someday."

The lion laughed at the idea of a tiny mouse helping a powerful lion but decided to let him go. "You’re too small to bother with," the lion said, releasing the mouse.

A few days later, the lion was caught in a hunter’s net. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t free himself. He roared loudly, calling for help.

Hearing the lion’s cries, the little mouse ran to the scene. "Don’t worry, my friend. I’ll help you," the mouse said.

Using his sharp teeth, the mouse gnawed at the ropes of the net until it broke and set the lion free.

The lion was astonished and grateful. "You were right, little mouse," the lion said. "Even someone as small as you can help someone as big as me."

The two became good friends, and the lion learned to always be kind and humble.
