I will spend most of the time on social media rather than short video apps while I am using my electronic devices,this is because when I start browsing short videos I will become obsessed with these endless videos and be unaware of how time passes.When I am using iPad or laptop,I will try to put my attention on apps that I use to take notes or websites with major knowledge,so that I can focus on studying and not waste too much time playing games,chatting with friends or browsing short videos.

I feel everything is going on a right direction until nowadays. The score I graded will be B. It do not reach the A grade because I can make some improvement in my study habits. I still have some things that can be improvement on my study. The most challenging part for me is to get used to have lessons in English. But now I think I can handle it. All the professors in my lesson are patient and encourage a lot which really promotes me work harder. I should manage my time in a more efficiency way and try to figure out more academic problems through my study. Also, I should take more exercise in daily life to keep my health.

2)As Chinese people, our image should not appear out of date and lacks development. Nowadays China is becoming a modern country and not all Chinese are farmers. This is a typical Chinese image stereotype under the Western gaze and unrespect China.

3)The video is trying to make audiences feel China is a poor and savage country with all the Chinese being farmers and living in primitive communes.

4) This video shows the seriousness of the stereotype of China. First of all, China is developing at a fast speed with a wide range of infrastructures such as high-speed rail and highways. Not all the Chinese are a farmer as living, many people are now working in the city. Secondly, the custom that occurs in the video is a stereotype, it is a sort of custom that the Chinese ancient would wear while they doing rough work, but this sort of custom has been reformed in the long history, and there is no more people still wearing this sort of custom nowadays.

Question 1: Why do people engage in aspects of Participatory Culture like Fan Fiction or Fan Activism? Have you ever? If so, what attracted you to it? (remember: TikTok challenges, YouTube videos etc. count as Participatory Culture)

Some second creation such as Fan Fiction give readers chances to scan some characters from a different side. If readers only judge the character from the original side, the image may be evil and negative. However, the Fan Fiction can explore the other side of the character, which makes readers jump off the single story.

Question 2: At the beginning of the semester, we talked about Hegemony and the power of the culture industry. Explain how Participatory Culture can be counter-hegemonic. (Give specific examples.)

People may develop empathy and understand the reasons behind some of their actions. If the story only have original version, readers may sink into the stereotype of characters because their understanding of the characters is from a single way. For instance, when a villain has an fan fiction, people may have more understanding about him on the other side out of the original, and extend more creativity.

Many creative authors have added many new creations from the original writing, and even have created a complete and independent story on the basis of the story. By creating your own story, it can bring many effects, for example, the characters may have more possibilities, more specific outlook, and more importantly, readers can see the fictitious world from other vision angles besides reading the story from the author's perspective.

The people who are not included are the enemies of China and those people who want to split our country. The song shows the cohesiveness and power of Chinese people and shows the Chinese sense of unity in the world. Also, all the Chinese people will fight for our country until the end.

4) Make sure to show how your conclusions are based on the lyrics of the anthem

The lyric calls all the Chinese people to wake up and realize that we should against the enemy who wants to destroy our country. When we have to face war, we should fight together to protect our country and stick together, using our flesh and blood to protect our homeland. With the description of fighting and violence, our later generations will not forget the efforts that our ancestors have made to maintain peace.
