         <description><![CDATA[<p>Non-speaking users or those with atypical speech experience barriers using voice activation for apps and devices. One solution which may help would be to introduce a simple assistive device such as a Talking Tile which plays a pre-recorded message when pressed. This can be used to initiate voice commands. </p><p><br/></p><p>E.g. a family member or support worker could record the message “Hey Google, what is the weather forecast today?” or “Alexa, play my playlist”. The user can then press the button near their phone or smart speaker independently to get the answer. </p><p><br/></p><p>(Remember to add separate buttons with commands such as “Alexa stop” or “Alexa volume up / down” to ensure the person has more control over the speaker actions.)</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A partnership between&nbsp;St. John of God Community Services Liffey&nbsp;and&nbsp;Fighting Blindness, <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://digicoach.ie/coaching-support/">DigiCoach</a> is funded by&nbsp;Rethink Ireland&nbsp;and inspired by the&nbsp;SAID&nbsp;and&nbsp;VisionTech&nbsp;projects.</p><p><br/></p><p>Open to local groups and organisations such as community centres, clubs, and charities, Community Workshops are available to all who want to improve digital inclusion in their activities.</p><p><br/></p><p>The workshops explore inclusive technology that makes events, services, and communication more accessible. Participants try tools like magnifiers, speech-to-text, and accessible presentation software, and learn practical steps for creating welcoming, accessible spaces,&nbsp; both online and in person. Each workshop is tailored to the group’s needs for immediate, real-world impact.</p>]]></description>
