I took away that no matter how someone stereotypes you that you can always prove them wrong. I also learned that you have to have confidence in order to be able to not believe in people's stereotypes. I think that this will improve my outlooks on stereotypes because it will help me better understand how stereotypes make others feel.

2-3 take aways I took from the ted talk are that she was stereotyped as a hispanic that she wouldn't be as good as all the other students just because of the color of her skin, and her ethnicity.Another thing is that you should never take whaat people label you as as an insult but instead prove them wrong. It will improve my outlook on stereotypes and breaking the system because if we don't stereotype people wont be categorized in the same way as she was where she was singled out just because the color of her skin and her ethnicity.

I took away many ideas from this TED talk. One of them being, you don't have to fit into the stereotypes just because society said so. It's amazing to prove the stereotypes wrong. The second thing I took away from this is, even when minorities are just young kids they are still categorized by their ethnicity and skin color. My third and final take-away from this is, that I never had to deal with this. When the speaker was young she had to already deal with all that meanwhile when I was that age I was never questioned about needing extra help because I am fortunate to have this skin color.
