I don’t remember what it was for specifically, but I remember I started being in constant conversation in my head with myself after that. I became more self-aware, and started the habit of writing in a journal. 

I would’ve been a totally different person if I hadn’t picked up being introspective in grade school. I’m a bit of an over-thinker now, but I’m thorough, and a few steps ahead most days. Wouldn’t change a thing about it. 

I also always think of Leigh’s comment on dogs when my pupper has his moments of increased affection towards me: I wonder if Porkchop (my dog) is licking me because he loves me, or because he likes my after-jog sweat. 

I still love to read. Thanks for… giving? me that, or helping to develop it.

Going to Builders' was one, if not the most, colorful aspect of my life. Even though our classrooms back then may not have been too big, I honestly felt like it was the largest place in the entire world. One door was only a portal to different other worlds because of the stories we read. You definitely played a crucial role into imbuing my childhood with so much color and magic. And, now that I'm taking Comparative Literature, I'd say that you're one of my inspirations for doing so! Reading back then used to be my form of escapism as a child, but then the older I get, the more I understand the value of empathy and critically engaging with the society around us too. Thank you for equipping us with those skills even when we were still tiny enough to climb the guava tree at the school's yard, haha! And thank you too for making the world a kinder place.
