The cause for teen popularity on social media is those teens do what is most trending on the internet. Most if the teens post about their lives, fun DIY'S, vacations, and things like that.

What would consider a teen popular  on social media?

Most people would consider you or someone else popular on social media, would be if you got a lot of likes on pictures and posts. Or if you have a lot of followers and people fan-girl over you.

Most teens today are up to date on all the latest trends, so by posting stuff on their social media account about trends people like them and in turn want to follow them. 


when is one considered popular on social media? 
When they have a lot of followers or when they're "famous" most teens watch YouTube and you can see that they gain popularity by gaining subscribers and in turn they tell their subscribers to go follow them on social media.

Why would teens be so interested in being popular on social media?
Its all about reputation and being number one on the social food chain. They want to keep their popularity because bullying is still a thing and less popular kids are getting bullied, they do it so the don't get bullied or looked down upon.
