- Germans were scared of anyone not German; this led to them wanting to make people become German. The ways they would do this would be obviously by force.

They believed that in order to show Nationalism they had to use their military, as said in the slide prior. 
- In order for Germany to back up their reputation, they began to heavily reinforce their navy and army.
- Germany added 170,000 full-time soldiers to its army in 1913-14. In 1898, the German government ordered the construction of 17 new vessels. Berlin also led the way in the construction of military submarines; by 1914 the German navy had 29 operational U-boats.

They believed that to be the best nation and conquer the most land, they had to protect their borders and have the best military. 
- They used their big ego to power their military and intimidate surrounding nations in the midst of war. This led to other nations being afraid of them and making them easier for Germany to defeat.
