Each family of the Miwok ate 500 pounds of acorns per year. Dance was a key element of the Miwoks religion. The Chumash's boats were called Tunnels. They made bead money and there boats were made entirely out of plank wood. The Hupa made there houses partly underground in the winter. One Hupa custom was to build rectangle homes out of cedar wood planks. Every Native American tribe traded when they had to many things. A women's basket has a unique design.
