Her family keeps asking and begging for some of the money from the life insurance check her husband (who passed)  gave them. She is like a dandelion because everyone is wishing she'll hand over some money. Just like people make a wish with dandelions, they blow and blow until the dandelion has nothing left to go but let go of her own dreams. While she did buy the house she did give Walter (her son) the money that was left. She puts them in there place when they act up, and of course still cares for them. She also directs them in there life telling them which direction to head next. Just like the head motorcyclist is holding up his hand, possibly indicating they need to slow down or slow to a stop. Things for Lena's family isn't handed straight to them either. She gave Walter the rest of the money ($6500) to help him. She also says to put it in a bank and give some to her daughter for medical school. Whether her child listens or not is not her decision. She does point him in the right direction though. He doesn't listen to her and looses all of the money. Although she pointed him in the right path he didn't listen. Her family was raised going to church every Sunday, the were taught the word of God and were taught to believe in him. She wants everyone to be good and 'clean' by getting on to them for when they act up. When her daughter says she doesn't believe in God, Mama gets onto her and makes her repeat that under her house God is real. It's like she sucks the bad things out of them and makes them better. Lena Younger is like a heart because she loves her children unconditionally. She also gave them life and continues to bring 'life' to her family and tries her best to love the old apartment. In the book "Raisin in the Sun" there is a plant. She wants to keep the plant because she wants it to live, she takes as best care for the plant as she can. Though it may be wilting she wants to bring back life to it and care for it. I chose the alarm clock for a few reasons. One of the reasons is because she is "full bodied" which is bigger than the average wrist watch. Another way she may remind some one of an old alarm clock is because she's on her sixties. Back in the old days people didn't live long as people do today. She was older, and probably saw more. This clock has been through some thing or some things. You can tell its older by the way it looks, there's even rust. Once you give them a second look and study them these leaves that were full, green, and full of life have now fallen. Although they are now only half alive, they are still beautiful like before. Just like mama, though her husband died and half of her is missing now, she is still beautiful once you give her a second look. She maybe old but is still as good as she use to be and that is how leaves are. People use leaves for a few things, such as pictures, or even helping start a fire. She also wonders and stops mid conversation to start a completely new one. Like people with Apple Watch's would, people may look more professional, or like they have more money. Most times people will slack and get distracted by them. I've seen so many people look at their watch and start playing games or texting during conversations instead of getting the point across for what they want to say. In reality Apple Watches are more of a distraction rather than helpful. Though Mama is very helpful she doesn't think the process through fully.
