Anna and Andrea from Austria landed at Porto airport on Sunday afternoon and then has a stroll in the historical city of Porto.

Soon we were shown all the school facilities and we were startled to discover the modernity and neatness of the school grounds  as well as the amiability of the staff and students.

After a coffee break at the “yes we can project ” café , conceived by the professor Luis Baião and managed by Silvia , the social assistant in charge of a group of enthusiastic disabled young people , we headed to the library for the “etwinning” training course. Augusto informed us of how to create a project,upload photos and organise the folders .
Augusto reminded us that Austria will be leading the project “ the inner classroom reloaded”.

It was time for lunch and eventually Mr.Vitor was there to give us a ride to the Ribera of Gaia where we had the typical Porto dish “Francesinha”.
Later on , we had an amusing and interesting visit of the “Sanderman cellar wines” of Porto, where we had the chance to taste delicious tawny Porto wine.


We then rushed uphill to the exchange Palace of Porto for a remarkable visit of this awesome historical monument and its breathtaking Arabic ballroom.
At the railway station of Porto we had a detailed history lesson of Portugal pictured on the magnificent blue tiles.

Before ending our immersing walking tour of the city of Porto, we wandered to the  the most emblematic café of Portugal famous for its wonderful belle époque atmosphere, the "Majestic café".

We started with the organisation of our folders and files on the etwining platform and distribute tasks to write the bulletin and the description of the project and upload files onto the different folders newly created.

At 1 p.m we were invited to lunch at the "Yes we can project" café where Silvia and her team had prepared the traditional Portuguese dish "cod with potatoes and spinach". An hour later , we started our mindfulness session , where the coach introduced us to a world of "being present and enjoy the moment". She started with theater activities :running , walking and dancing under the appearance of different actors such as robbers, soldiers and others. Then a memory game after observing all the details in the room and a description game where we had to give few details of something we could see with the least details possible but very precise. Later on we practiced "active listening", where one told the other about some issue he/she was concerned with and then the other reported to the rest of group what he had understood.
Before moving to a relaxation moment, we all together discussed the meaning of mindfulness compared to meditation, which resulted in the idea that mindfulness is an attitude towards life focused on one's breathing to feel one's inner side and so become aware of his/her self. This self-awareness provides self-control and thus enjoyment of the moment to be lived.

We eagerly tried to arrange convenient dates for the coming joint staff meetings in Spain and Austria and the Mobility meetings in Austria, Spain and Portugal.
We also defined and made a planning of  activities as well as distributed responsibilities to be carried out along the project.
We went for a coffee break at the "yes, we can " café, where we were welcomed with an emotional performance of the staff team who sang  typical portuguese romantic ballads.
On our last day at Canelas school , we were satisfied with the work done and ready to be shared with the rest of the participants in the project.
Before leaving Porto were went on a bus tour and enjoyed all the sights of the city and its surroundings.
Angela, Ana , and Gracinda took us for a farewell dinner in the  pictoresque bar"Lareira"  in the old quarter where we could taste some of the most savory dishes of Portugal such as : picapau,rojoes, bacalhau.
It was 11 p.m , time to say goodbye. Angela, Ana and Gracinda sang various farewell songs in different languages at the mouth of the underground station.

We worked hard but we had a great time thanks to this big-hearted and engaged portuguese team. We will never forget our stay in Porto.
