This is American comedian from New York, Morgan Tracy. He is most famous for the years he spent on Saturday Night Live, and his character Tracy Jordan from 30 Rock. One day while on a stand up tour with a number of other comedians, his limousine van was rear-ended from a Walmart semi-truck travelling 20mph above the speed limit on a freeway heading northbound near exit 8a near Canbury, New Jersey.

Tracy suffered from broken ribs, a broken femur (which had to be repaired), a broken nose, and a traumatic brain injury. Due to the injuries he was placed in a coma for about two weeks.

Tracy Morgan has had strained and complicated relationships with his family in the past. His mother visited him once while he was in the hospital, but primarily his social support was his girlfriend (who would later become his wife), Megan Wollover. Presumably, because of HIPPA or simply for not wanting to release photos of himself while acutely ill and injured, there are no released photos of Tracy Morgan while critically ill, although there are some photos while he was in a wheelchair, and then later using a walker.

EMS responded to an MVC involving a limousine and a semi, with possible trapped patients. Severe damage was observed to both the semi and the limousine. Only one PT was injured. Fire was able to gain access to the PT and allow EMS to extricate the PT from the vehicle. PT was removed from the car and placed in a full-body immobilization vacuum mattress. PT was then moved into the back of the ambulance for a complete head-to-toe assessment. Upon head-to-toe assessment, the patient denies any head, neck, or back pain. PT did have deformities to the nose, and bruising was observed. PT denies any upper extremity pain but has pain upon palpation to the right side of the chest. PT's chest was exposed and appeared to have bruising to the ribs on the right side. PT's pelvis seemed to be stable. PT had pain in the upper right leg, and noticeable swelling was observed in the right leg. PT's right leg appeared to be shorter than the left leg. PT did seem to have good CSMs in all extremities. Two 18g IVs were established in bilateral ACs, and 1,000 mL of NS fluid was administered. PT was also given 4 mg Zofran and 100 mcg Fentanyl for the pain. PT was transported to the supine position fully immobilized. PT was assessed during transport with no new findings. A report was given to the hospital. With no questions or orders, they told us how amazing we were. EMS was able to provide a full report upon arrival, with most recent vitals being BP=110/78, HR=78, strong and regular RR=16, SPO2=98 on room air, BGL=77.

Identify what supplies, equipment, and/or personnel the patient will need upon arrival of the patient.
Ask for any additional information that would be useful to know regarding the patient’s status.

Supplies/equipment/preparation/personnel
- Prepare a trauma room to receive patient, alert a trauma code 2 to alert the trauma team.
- Raise room temperature to help maintain patient's body temperature due to the possibility of shock and considerable blood loss.
- Have rapid blood infusers ready. The patient's vital signs obtained by EMS appear stable for the time being, but it will be important to have O negative blood ready should the patient status destabilize.
- Have warm infusion pumps ready to administer fluids at a warm temperature to help with fluid loss and to maintain body temperature. Be sure that such fluids are primed in blood tubing should a blood infusion be necessary.
- EMS was kind enough to already insert two bilateral AC 18g IVs so have necessary tubing ready to connect and begin infusing.
- Should patient's respiratory status destabilize have ready medications and equipment ready for an emergency intubation.
- Have AED and crash cart ready and nearby just in case.
- Have trauma team present, including trauma surgeon.
- Have CNA present and appropriate nursing staff ready.
- Have pharmacist ready.
- Have respiratory therapist ready to evaluate and stand by should intubation be necessary.
- Have PPE ready for all personnel due to the probable presence of blood and bodily fluids, including gown, gloves, mask, face shield/goggles.

- We confirm and affirm the amazingness of EMS as mentioned in their previous response.
- Asked EMS about what the patient's level of alertness and orientation was as well as what they would score him on the Glasgow coma scale while in their care.
- We asked what the patient's response from the fentanyl dose was.
Mechanism of energy
- The mechanism of energy that affected the patient would be a transfer of a great amount of kinetic energy due to the collision of a semi truck against the limousine van within which the patient was seated.
- This force of kinetic energy most likely resulted in injury, acceleration-deceleration movement, and more.

PT was GCS 13 -1 for being confused and -1 for keeping his eyes closed, only opening them when asked questions.

PT stated that before the administration of fentanyl, he was 10 out of 10 pain, and after the administration of fentanyl, he was 4 out of 10 pain. EMS informed the patient that we did not want to eliminate the pain so that the doctor could perform a practical evaluation, and the patient was understanding and stated that he was able to manage. PT also said that he was confident he would have an excellent nursing staff waiting for him at the hospital to take care of him.
