Somebody said that they hated being so far away from their family overseas. So I bought up the pitch of creating a life-sized robot that could map out and change to look exactly like your other family member and they can walk around and talk inside your house when you're on a call with them, so it would essentially be a life, sized robot that can be exactly like your family member. One person in my group suggested what would happen to the robot once you're finished talking to your relative so I said that it would collapse into itself and could be put into a cupboard or turn into a Roomba. This discussion of ideas really helped me get an insight into what we are going to be doing in an action project over the semester and it really seems enjoyable and something that I would like to do. In my mind, it seems so simple just create an idea for a problem. As Mr O and Ms Firn dove into the task, we understood that it was more about the process of trying to design and create a solution for a problem and the different ways we could do it and the process for creating the final product that created the task and not just the final product. Ms Firn said that we were allowed to choose our partners for this task so I chose Fredy and we already decided on an idea that we might want to focus on but it isn't set in stone so were waited and went through the other ideas before we decide on what problem to create a product from. Me and Fredy decided to pick not knowing your neighbours, but we had another idea first for an app that read the terms and conditions for you and gave you simple dot points of the main topics.

Some of the pros
- During this process, we really engaged our creativity and brainstorming skills
- When doing this we enjoyed thinking of new ideas and new solutions to the problems.

Some of the negatives
- The planning stage didn't have much opportunity for us to expand on serval ideas and only gave us an opportunity to choose one
- During this process we didn't really utilise our time really well and we could have expanded on points more further and maybe created some vision drawings which we didn't do during this process

In this project, we had to primarily use our creativity and critical thinking to create new ideas and expand on them. We made sure that we thought of real-world problems that people face and away we could design a new product that could effectively solve that issue. Our original idea took a lot of thought and creativity to find the problem and also took
a lot of critical thinking to find the solution. Me and Fredy also constantly communicated throughout the entire project so that we could build off each other's ideas and thoughts. Along with this, we had to collaborate on the entire project as it was a group task.

The first idea for our group was good but we felt like enough people didn't care about the terms and conditions for apps so they wouldn't even read through the short summaries. To improve next time I would definitely expand more on our original idea and add more main ideas. Along with this me and Fredy definitely needed to improve our time management in class as we spent more time discussing the end product and less time actually writing down its features of it.

Me and Fredy worked on it and got it done within two lessons and got it sent throughout the school to be surveyed.

Some of the pros
We ended up with 87 submitted answers which were way more than we had ever expected
We used the information to create charts and diagrams and statistics we hope to use in our final video

Some negatives
Some of the questions didn't really pertain to our end product and were more general questions
We couldn't use all the information that we had gathered and some were a bit useless and a waste of time

In creating this we had used many of the 4c's. When making the questions for each of the videos me and Fredy collaborated by having one person write and the other person creates ideas then use switching. This was a great example of how we used collaboration and communication to use in the final script and we used this same process when creating the script. When making the survey we didn't use that much critical thinking but we did use some of our prior knowledge and research to create the surveys. We also used a lot of creativity in making all of the questions and the end survey so that when people took it the questions were more direct to them and not overly complicated and wordy but instead simple and easy to understand.

If doing this again we would make sure that instead of having the questions more suitable for the end-user to have the questions more useful for us to use and to make statistics and charts with as this would have definitely helped our script. Another thing that we could have incorporated was a section where people could have shared their own stories about not knowing their neighbours so we could use it in the video and have characters like that person.

We didn't want to make it too restricting by having it wordy and having our every line memorised. We decided to go for more of a couple of dot points for each idea we had and to create more statistics and percentages to include in the final video.

Some of the pros
- The script was in dot points so easy to look at and easy to somewhat memories
- Me and Fredy didn't have to memories anything as it was so simple we could just read it once for general ideas

Some of the negatives
The script didn't give us an idea of what we should have filmed so what to film and how to film it only gave information which was a downside on our parts
The script didn't have that many statistics and often times the parts needed to have a bit more information

There were many examples of the 4c's that we used in the entire script process. When we were making the script me and Fredy both collaborated well by taking turns and making sure that both our ideas were incorporated well along with this we made sure that we split parts so that we could both share the workload evenly. An example of communication would be how when we were trying to create dot points we brainstormed out loud and discussed how we could do certain scenes and we wrote down the information that they needed showing both critical thinking and communication. Although the end script wasn't that creative as it was mainly just a general idea of what we had to include and the information and statistics when we were brainstorming we used lots of creativity to think up new ideas and how we should incorporate them into the script and into the end video.

If we were to do this differently next time we would have definitely added how we should have recorded particular scenes and not just the information. Along with this having general ideas was good but also has a short paragraph after the dot points explaining some key things and really fleshing out our previous ideas would have been best so we could have had a more thought interacted end video instead of a more running with its approach.

This turned out to be a mistake because after I finished editing I realised we needed to change a lot of things about it.

Some pros about the video
Me and Fredy had a lot of fun and laughs creating the video and it was really enjoyable
Most of the film was done well considering that we did it only a few takes
The video was filled with good and funny content

Some negatives
The video was really long when put together and we really need to edit out a whole chunk of script
The video was hard to watch at some stages when we looked over it again
The video wasn't that informative because we were trying to run without the script to make the video seem more natural
The video needed a lot of time to be refined and edited
In some areas where we just tried to make it funnier than inciteful.

When making the video we should all the 4'cs. Examples of this would be how we used creativity to come up with the different characters and how we created new ideas and elements for the video. An example of critical thinking would be when we went off script for several parts so that we could create our own unique video and not have some scripted boring video. An example of communication would be when me and Fredy were constantly talking about how we would want every idea to work through and how we both talked out how we wanted to make each scene. A clear example of collaboration would be the entire video-making process as me and Fredy collaborated throughout the entire. the process so that both of our visions were created in the end.

Some areas we could have improved on for next time would be to film the video over two or three sessions so that we could record the original takes and keep parts and elements that we did like and review the videos so that we could see where we needed to improve in and then reshoot it the next day. Some of the feedback that we got where mainly on our video. The teachers and students liked the presentation part of our video as it was simple and straight forward but we could have improved much more in different aspects.

When we created our script we were much more involved with the overall facts rather than how we would get our point across so when we created our video we didn't get the main points for our idea across well to the viewer
we also repeated our facts in our video again and again so our video came of as unfinished

We had a lot of ups and downs while creating the video and the script and when we went to go record our video we had to do it all in one take making the video come off as incomplete and need more refinement. To improve this we should have done multiple takes, did reruns and look over our videos in the editing space then rerecorded so we can know what we can and cant fix.

The overall feedback helped me and Fredy think about al the steps that we could have down better and reflect on how much we grew in this task. This was our first ever video that we were making together and this was our first ever time making and designing a video for a product. There were many things that we could have improved on along the way but in many aspects, we improved. We decided that we would use humour and repetition as our main persuasive techniques.

-Why did you choose that form of communication?
We decided to use these forms of persuasive techniques as we thought it would make our presentation enjoyable to watch and so the viewers would remember it and be more likely to like our product. We also decided to use repetition as we thought it would help make it funnier

-How effectively did you use it?
We used comedy and it worked somewhat well but when we kept on using repetition it got boring and what we were saying got lost.

-Having seen other videos, would you have used a different technique if given the opportunity?
We would have definitely used some other techniques like having images or pictures of our end product and having more characters to make our video more enjoyable so that the viewers weren't filled with irrelevant information. We would have also lent into the humour a bit more meaning than we would have added jokes and comedic voices and ideas so that the viewers could actually laugh and enjoy our presentation.

How effectively do you think your group collaborated?
Me and Fredy really collaborated well throughout this entire task and we really talked over ideas and really bounced new ones off each other. Me and Fredy also split the workload evenly so that not one person was contributing all the ideas or doing all the work.

-What were the obstacles and how did you overcome them?
For us, one of the biggest obstacles that we had was not having enough time to film the video. We overcame this by shooting the entire video in one lesson. This meant that we could knock it out of the way and move on to the editing part really quickly. The problem with this was that the overall video wasn't refined enough and needed more work overall. We had to cut a lot of parts and ideas as we felt like they didn't pertain to the main point of our pitch. If done again we would have given ourselves a minimum of two lessons to film so as to us having enough time and so that we could watch over and redo parts that we didn't feel we were good enough.

Which of the 5 C's did you experience growth in or can show good evidence/discuss high quality engagement? (you can mention one or more Character Strengths too)

In overall growth, I really progressed while we were doing this task. During the task, we had to engage our creativity and critical thinking to find everyday problems and find effective and quality solutions for them. When doing this my overall creativity and critical thinking have definitely increased as I now look at a problem and think how can I fix it? What's a possible solution to this problem. By doing this task I also improved in my collaboration and communication as me and Fredy were constantly communicating with each other throughout the entire task. Fredy and I didn't even know much about each other as the only class that we had before the action project together was geography last year. During this task me and Fredy really bonded by talking about all the different ideas we had and how we could improve them.

Over conclusion of your group's successors and what you might do differently next time.
Our group produced a good pitch on how there is a big problem of people not knowing their neighbours and through our pitch, we created a solution to this pressing problem. We used humour and repetition to help sell our end product and we both put in a lot of time and effort to create the end product. To improve on our pitch and idea we should have included that we were going to add community hubs in every city even smaller ones and have a dedicated app where people could communicate and talk to other people inside their community. To improve on our pitch we should have decreased the amount of repetition that we used along with adding more humour and statistics during our video along with mentioning the above ideas. Some of the pros of this process.
This process was a very group process so everyone was chipping in ideas. Throughout this entire time, we were all trying to think of new problems that would affect a certain group and we definitely pitched some interesting ones

Some of the cons of this process.
It was a bit time-consuming as if we just decided we should pick one problem such as community we could really do a deep dive into that one specific problem instead of doing a somewhat in-depth dive into a large number of different ideas.

Throughout this entire process, we used a lot of the 4cs. We mainly used collaboration and creativity as the entire time we were brainstorming problems and potential solutions and we were all doing it together so that was really good to see. We also had to communicate a lot as we had to discuss out loud problems and solutions. Our process was mainly one person saying a topic and we all spit out ideas quickly innovating and brainstorming new problems and solutions.

what we could do differently next time

Throughout this process of creating and refining our company, EduCube, I have developed many skills. First and foremost, my skills of communication have improved by leaps and bounds. Throughout the process of INNOV8 this term, I learnt how to make a pitch, how to present it confidently and how to do an elevator pitch, a short succinct excerpt of the pitch. I have also improved my critical thinking skills, thinking about our product from different angles, figuring out its flaws and fixing them. Our final product was testimony to this, as we were given the title of the best product in the learning sector, proof our product was interesting and polished.

Action project has been a really insightful course, and has improved my 4Cs on many levels. As stated, my communication ability has increased, and I now know how to create and give a good pitch. My collaboration skills were tested throughout this process, and are now stronger as a result. Our product could’ve been better if it wasn’t for the many organisation hiccups we had along the way, but we still managed to achieve our goal of winning our sector’s competitiveness. My creativity helped during the design phase of this task, and because of how good the final product turned out, it is clear that my, and my group’s creative thinking skills have expanded throughout this course. Critical thinking has already been outlined in the previous paragraph.

How can you use the skills developed in Action Project in other areas of your life / in the future? (70 words)

If I ever choose to start or improve an existing business, I will have the basic skills to do so. I am sure there will be many other occasions throughout my life where the skills I have learnt in this lesson will be of use. For example, if I have an idea for a business I could see working, I could develop and pitch that idea to possible investors, and could use the strategies learnt to refine and improve that pitch.

What challenges did you face in this course, and how did you overcome them? Were any of your personal Character Strengths a benefit or did you have to stretch your lesser strengths, explain how. We did encounter a few challenges as we were all pretty headstrong on some ideas so we had to compromise a lot. Some of this was how are pitch was going to be structured as each of us had a different vision of how it would go. Because of this, we decided to split the pitch into three different sections for each of us as we thought this would let us all do our own independent pitch. We felt like this was a good compromise and everyone could get their intended pitch out. Looking back this was a great idea and in the end, this structure and our lack of scripts lead us to victory.

How have you developed as a learner throughout this course? (80 words)

I would definitely use the creativity aspect that we had to use throughout this course as the entire time we were always creating and innovating new ideas and finding solutions for problems as they came up. This can be used in all my other courses to make sure that whenever a problem comes up we are creating the best possible solution. My character strengths during this task have definitely improved as a learner and as an individual as not only our creativity and our collaboration skills improved drastically but the entire time during this task we were able to communicate at every stage which was really impressive and definitely a development and improvement of my character strengths

What have you gained from this course at a personal level? (50 words)
| As an individual, what are the key things you learned about yourself throughout Action Project? |

During Action Project, I definitely gained the skills to communicate and collaborate a lot more during all of our tasks. When our groups worked together for the first and second tasks we were able to create excellent ideas and for our final task our idea, pitch presentation was able to win first in our category. I learned a lot about myself as a learner and an individual like how I was able to overcome challenges easily and how me and my group were able to solve challenges.

During this stage, we had to properly research how big our problem was. We needed to show facts and statistics on the number of people affected by our problem how big the issue is and potential first ideas of what our solution could be.

Pros
- Some of the pros of this stage were that we were able to thoroughly analyse and discover how big our theoretical problem was and we were able to show this with facts and statistics.
- We were also able to create some basic drawings and renderings at this stage of what our product might look like and we have settled on the name educate, based on our idea of what the product is going.
Cons
This process was a bit tedious and time consuming as not many information about our problem was easy access on the internet
At this stage, our group wasn't doing much as some people were working on this but others were doing something else as we got too much time to research.

What examples of 4cs did we use at this stage?
During this stage, we showed some 4'Cs more than others. We didn't need to use all that much critical thinking during this stage as everything mainly was research and development but we definitely had to use this skill when creating the name and idea along with a lot of creativity. During this stage, we used a fair amount of collaboration on how we could pitch our individual ideas of what we could do.

What we could do differently next time
Next time we could have gotten all our research done in the begging and spent the rest of the time on our idea and product as I think we definitely didn't need a whole week to research was what we had to do. Pros -
We finally locked down what our problem is going to be. We decided that we were going to look into how kids in rural areas in Australia don't get access to good education compared to us.
In this process, we also decided what our idea is going to be. We decided that we wanted to send out tutoring devices to children across Australia with Australia post and it would have like booklets that they could read and get information about everything with.

Cons -
This process of finally deciding what we want to do is taking a lot more time than it needs and I think we have spent nearly three lessons on it so just picking an idea in the first lesson might have been better
The group is slightly struggling because everyone has very strong ideas and because of this, we are struggling to find a possible combined solution.

How did we use the 4'c in this process?
We had to use the 4'c a lot during this process as we were really struggling with communication at the start as everyone was very head-strung with the ideas we were coming up with and we definitely had a few struggles and because of this we had to talk and discuss together on how we could potentially fix the problem. We also had to collaborate and use our creative skills a lot in deciding the name of the product what it might do how we could go about designing it and a lot of different choices and ideas. We didn't really have to use critical thinking that much as most of the ideas came to us but one thing we had to decide on was the name which really struggled for us to come up with

What could we do differently next time?

This was our final pitch to the judges and I say it was definitely a great success as our group worked hard and practised and we produce an absolutely excellent end product and final pitch.

Pros
- Our final pitch ended up winning so we were definitely very happy that out of the 6/7 groups we were able to win
- Our pitch not taking that much time was still better than other people who had scripted and put a lot more effort.
- The marine judge really liked our pitch and said that it was the best one that she had seen

Cons
- It did finish a bit late and I had an assignment due that evening.
- There weren't that many people walking around and it might have been better if we presented in the gym as many of the classrooms were crowded and busy.

This entire time we used all of the 4C's perfectly. The entire time from us setting up to constructing how we could improve the performance of the final pitch we were communicating and collaborating more than ever. We also had to use a lot of creativity skills in deciding on how we were going to lay out our entire presentation area. I also had to use critical thinking a lot when I had to decide when to jump into the presentation and when to let Arthur and Fredy take over.

what we could have done differently
Next time we would have definitely revised our pitch a few times in class as towards the end my other group member was going on for a bit and I was trying to clarify what they were saying which intern made it go on for longer so definitely revising a bit more would have made our pitch absolutely perfect.

At this stage, we had to create a script for our first presentation to the classroom and we needed to create and show a refined and almost complete final product pitch and receive feedback on it

Pros
- We spent a lot of time working on how we could potentially create a great script and in the end we presented really well
- We received tons of great feedback on what we have to change and improve for our final pitch and idea.

Cons
- We couldn't get the video that we had created as one of the group members who had to edit it had covid and couldn't complete it and he was the only one with the files
- We only had group members which posed a challenge to present with as me and Arthur had to carry the group and present all of our work by ourselves.

Examples of 4cs
In this presentation, we definitely used critical thinking the most as we had to use it a lot when both of our other team members didn't show up and when we had to improvise with our video. Our communication skills while designing the pitch were really good but weren't good when we were going to present if we were able to communicate with each other we would have been able to prevent the issue that came up. Me and Arthur used creativity and collaboration a lot to make up for the missing work and we definitely collaborated really well when presenting our pitch
What we could do differently next time
Next time we would have definitely made sure that we had the entire video and all the files shared with all the group members in a shared drive so that we didn't have missing files or videos.

At this stage we need to design our pitch and presentation to the class. We had to spend lots of time designing the slides creating a pitch and creating scripts for both the pitch and the video we had prepared.

Pros
- This stage was very easy and quite fun as we were able to let our creative side shine as most of the work that we did was just us pitching ideas and writing them done.

Cons
The process of writing scripts in class was very time-consuming and boring and for the final video, we didn't even use the script that we had prepared.

Examples of 4cs
We used the 4'Cs in this task when we had to use lots of creativity to create new pitches and product ideas. We also had to communicate a lot, especially when making the video as some of the members had different ideas of how we would take the presentation. We had to use critical thinking when we learned that roman wasn't coming back for the rest of the term and we had to find a solution to that. We also spend the entire time collaborating when we were creating the script and the video.

what we could do differently next time
We could have definitely re-recorded our video as it just seems a bit unfinished and definitely needs more work.
