Maybe you think racism is just a trend we hear or read about, but I’m here to assure you that the myths are true

Didn’t you hear about Black Lives Matter? It may be the largest movement in US history

You see George Floyd was just a citizen like you and me

Don’t you dare tell me this is a first

I swear sometimes I think back people are curst

If I had a dollar each time I was discriminated against, I would be as rich as a corporate lawyer

If you search on the internet, racism is defined as a prejudice, a discrimination or an antagonism by an individual, a community or an institution against a person or people, but in reality it’s just believing that any difference is considerate as illegal

Let me tell you a story about a little boy from Milwaukee, who had big dreams and craved glory

Growing up surrounded by narrow-minded people bullying him making him feel useless

His hope got crushed and the boy grew feeling helpless​

You know it’s not what someone says or does, it’s the way they make you feel that sticks with you

And after being mistreated so many times it’s not sadness anymore, but it’s anger that starts to consume you

I’m thankful for my parents for teaching not to fight violence with violence

Because at the end working on myself is the best way to quiet this ignorance

So come my friends let’s sit down and have this conversation

After all you are the future of this nation.

I speak for all those people who have been stared at and discriminated against, those people who have never experienced peace and who fight their fate in vain

In this slam, no rhymes, no ulterior motives

Just the translation into words of what our heart tells us

Looking back on all of these things at 14 makes us, compared to others, different. But a question arises, are we different or are we just human and intelligent.

We've seen that speeches don't work very well, so we're going to take advantage of this sweet melody to do what the government has willingly neglected: denounce these atrocities. 

Just open your eyes and look.

Our world is in decline.

 Putting others down has become a commonplace.

The division between us is no longer considered a problem.

Destroying and suffering in order to rebuild everything, that is the human mentality

Several genocides later, the lesson has still not been learned. We were told that nothing was worth more than our lives, yet millions of deaths later, we still talk about debts and credits.

We used to be happy and warm humans.

But we have become mere heartless robots.

Humiliating and discriminating has become for many the best way to feel good

I won't speak in general, I'll put some aside

but it makes me sad to think that soon we will be able to count them

Forget about our commonalities to emphasize our differences, how clever!

But what they don't know is that rarity and diversity are a form of wealth. And since when did we start classifying humans because of their belonging to a certain group.

You know what, I've never seen a racist animal.

I've never seen an anti-Semitic baby, or a sexist baby. 

So can we really say that adults are the most mature?

In this case, I think that the smartest thing we can say is that we are stupid.

I don't close my eyes at night anymore by dint of thinking and reflecting.

 I'm part of the people who always get up when they are about to give in.

We are fighting against people who always try to discriminate against us, people who condemn a whole class of people based on the actions of a few.

This will to move forward, we got it from all these sacrificed lives.

Because yes, you may have noticed but nobody is concerned about you until you're dead .

That's when they might care

Some people despise my origins, but that's what makes me strong.

Don't forget, never look away, in front of these unworthy people.

Because you should never be ashamed of your skin color, your religion, your sex, your origins or anything else.

But despite all the suffering you endure, you should share love, not hate.

Because hate can only cause more conflicts and more destruction

The voice of wisdom is silent, it speaks in sign language.

So don't speak but act.

That’s exactly what CRARN fights for , and what we , as young tunisian girls with the French educational system , find unalienable and absolute .

This association defends some Key values that mean to me and concern me as a tunisian young girl .

First of all , I'd like to point to the question of access to education because it’s a right that CRARN is fighting for and because  I am absolutely convinced that education is the one of the principal keys for children’s situation improvement and even the solution for the societes’ development .

In fact , our parents chose to bring us to this french school in order to have a better education and knowledge because they are conscious of its  major impact on our lives .(on a person’s life)

However, many people  , like us , who do have access to a good education typically take it for granted but after doing my researches i realized that studying in this school with this environment is such a privilege and advantage since  Across the world, more than 72 million children are not able to gain access to an adequate education.

So i see that It is important to understand the value of learning and the potential repercussions without it

Personally speaking , I feel that without this access to education my life wouldn't be the same  .

For example , what we have been doing on our english classes and other it's not just learning languages but it also teaches us how to live in a society , what are our rights and duties so imagine if i didn’t have the access to this classes i would be someone else with a different values and behavior if we can say it i would be someone who thinks otherwise and act otherwise .

And that’s why i feel like the fight for the right of education earnestly requests my commitment  

and i base my feeling on the fact that, not having access to education is also the main cause of many negligences and infractions to other children’s rights as : the protection from exploitation 

Many individuals must resort to incredibly dangerous jobs just to make a living since they have been  limited from access to  education. Specifically, women and girls in developing countries often resort to various methods of exploitation to provide for themselves and their families. Education can provide secure work, but without it, people might have a difficult time getting ahead. Exploitation can include, prostitution and child marriage…

The Child’s Right and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) has intercepted the trafficking of two teenage girls who were being whisked away from Nigeria to Dubai. The interception took place after a discreet and strategic investigation.

This specific situation and incident deeply  touches us and induce our engagement because its not only children problem but it's also a women rights issue so us , as a young tunisian girls ,  we think that CRARN is really helping giving  end to this harassment because there’s no way we can live normally here  while many girls at our ages are getting abused everyday all over the world .

Last but not least , to talk about children’s rights in Tunisia , as what concerns us the most , we can say that even though Tunisia is currently ranked first for child protection in the Arab world and It has legislative mechanisms and specific laws safeguarding the child's rights, and prohibiting violence against children , Unfortunately, the children’s situations are heavily influenced by the economic condition of the country many of them have no means for their development and health that’s why  The infant mortality rate of children younger than 5 years old is 21%, something that needs to be improved.

Moreover , Physical violence,  deeply entrenched as a means of punishment in Tunisian society, is still present in both the home and the school environment and remains a problem in Tunisia.

To conclude , children’s rights are facing problems all over the world , but thanks to many associations such as CRARN , the situation is getting improved 

The cause of children rights  means to us because it concerns people our age that can be even living in our country , so it is our duty to take part of it and at least raise awareness about it  because  Children ,  are the future so our rights must be entrenched .

Now, what is more important to know, is how her fight goes beyond her community, and how it concerns all of us (and I really mean all of us). 

A combat as big as hers is so important that there are no  words strong enough  to describe it. 

From my point of view, (as a young tunisian’s teenage girl) I can think of a way or two to  explain it. The combat not only advocates the equality between man and women, but also the emancipation of WOMAN, we know for facts that when she became chieffe it was the first time a woman was given this opportunity. 

Moreover, Tunisia is the first “Arabic” country to step up on this issue giving rights to women 

with the “Code de statut personnel” published by President Bourguiba at the very early months of independence. Bourguiba Legacy allowed abortion, birth control policy and extended health policies. Mutual consent became mandatory for marriage and divorce procedures were established by laws. 

However, we still live in a society in which one of the biggest issues encountered nowadays is the inequality between men and women. Hence until today women do not inherit an equal part of men, despite an attempt to change the law under the presidency of Beji Caid Essebsi in 2017.

In reality,  marriage with a  non muslim is still a taboo despite not forbiden, Legislation about rape is not formally processed as many procedure are absent when executing. 

During the last 10 years and with conservative governments, conditions of women have not really evolved. For example, the number of girls abondonging schools has increased. Number of transport accident involving rural women has also increased,...

WE  need to measure the chance to study in a French High School, as this is unfortunately not the case for every girl in this country. 

Some of them may never even graduate from high school. Girls' education is still a major society issue. 

Hence despite the international rights and laws against under age marriage, and other rights for the education and protection of children. We still need people like Theresa Kachindamoto to step up and say :  no more

This is how her combat concerns all of us as she once said “Educate a girl and you will educate a region…you will educate the world”.
