Fernando´s Confusion

My name is Fernando and I want to tell you my story. Although I was a video game player, I never thought it would affect me in this way. It was a normal afternoon when I started playing my favorite game: an online role-playing game where you could create your character and immerse yourself in a fantasy world full of adventures.

I started playing with my character, a strong and brave warrior, and got lost in the virtual world. But what I didn't realize at that time was that I was starting to confuse reality with the game. I found myself thinking about my character even when I wasn't playing. I worried about his well-being, got excited when he leveled up, and saddened when he failed a mission.

One day while playing, I noticed that my character was fighting a giant raccoon that had attacked him. Although it was just another enemy in the game, this raccoon caught my attention. It seemed more real than the other monsters I had faced before. It had an evil look and sharp teeth that made me tremble with fear. But my character, brave as he was, defeated it.

Then something strange happened. The game map started to change and my character was teleported to another world, a completely different world. I found myself in a dark and mysterious place, surrounded by cardboard boxes and strange objects. I realized I had been transported to the world of another game: the famous Metal Gear Solid.

I began to explore the world, cautious of what I might find. I met familiar characters like Solid Snake, the game's hero, and realized I was trapped in this new world. I didn't know how to get out of there, so I started looking for a solution.

As I explored, I realized something had changed in me. I had started to think, talk, and act like my character. I was beginning to confuse reality with the game once again.

Eventually, I found a way to leave the world of Metal Gear Solid. I was teleported to another game, a world full of fantasy and magic. I found myself in the kingdom of Hyrule, the world of The Legend of Zelda. I realized my character had changed too. He was no longer just a warrior but also a mage capable of casting spells and controlling the elements.

However, my adventure in Hyrule didn't last long. I was soon teleported to another world, this time one full of blocks and cubes. I was in the world of Minecraft.

Here, my character was completely different. He was a builder, an explorer, and a miner. I spent days building my own fortress, collecting resources, and exploring caves. I realized my mind had started to adapt to each world I found myself in, to each character I played.

Finally, after teleporting through several different games, I returned to the real world. I realized my mind was more confused than ever. I couldn't separate reality from fiction, and every time I thought of something, my mind related it to the video game worlds I had been in.

I started to worry. What was happening to me? How could I separate reality from fiction? I couldn't keep living like this. I decided to seek help.

I went to see a psychologist, who explained that this was a common psychological effect in video game players. My mind had been so immersed in virtual worlds that it had started to confuse them with reality.

The psychologist recommended that I take a break from video games so my mind could readjust to reality. It was difficult at first, but gradually I began to regain clarity in my mind.

Over time, I returned to playing video games, but this time with a different perspective. I no longer allowed myself to become completely absorbed in the virtual world, but instead maintained a conscious separation between reality and fiction.

I learned that video games can have a significant impact on our minds, and that it's important to find a balance between the real world and the virtual world. Through my experience, I learned to take care of my mental health and enjoy video games without letting them control my mind.

And yes, even after all I went through, I still face evil raccoons in my role-playing games. But this time, I can separate fiction from reality and enjoy the game without letting it negatively affect me.
