This quote shows how Eddie lived most of his life in the same place, doing the same job every day. It made me realize that Eddie probably felt stuck or unnoticed. I thought this moment was important because it shows how people can live quiet lives that still matter. Even though Eddie didn't have an exciting life, it doesn't mean what he experienced wasn't meaningful. This line made me think about how we don't always see the impact we have. It also makes Eddie's story more relatable.

This scene is the beginning of Eddie's life after he dies. He wakes up in a teacup ride from where he worked, Ruby Pier. This moment is important because it shows that Eddie is going to go back through his life and learn things he didn't understand before. The teacup ride also represents how he's going to go around in circles through his memories. My reaction to this scene was that it made me feel somewhat sad because he died, but I was also curious about the new things he was going to experience in heaven. I wanted to see who he would meet next in the after life and what he would learn about his life back when he was living.

This scene made me think a lot about how everything we do affects others, even if we may not realize it. It's easy to forget that small actions can have butterfly affects then create such big impacts. The idea that everyone is connected stuck with me.

It made me realize that how I treat people matters more than I think. This helped me realize that even if we don't see the effects right away, everything we do has some kind of purpose, either bad or good. This makes me want to be more mindful of the things I do, and how they can affect the people around me.

The Blue Man says this to Eddie to help him understand that the best gift is knowing what your life really meant. Eddie always thought his life didn’t matter, but now he’s starting to see that everything he did had a reason. I think this is important because sometimes we don’t understand things until later. It made me think about how even the hard or boring parts of life might have a purpose. My reaction to this scene was that it felt kind of hopeful. It made me feel better about not always having the answers right away. I liked that Eddie is starting to realize that his life really did have meaning.

This means that giving something up for others is a good thing, and not something you should feel bad about. Eddie always felt upset about what he lost in life, but now he’s learning that his sacrifices were able to help others. I thought this was an important moment because it helped Eddie see his life in a new way. This made me think about how people, like my parents give up things for me so I could live a better life. It helps me understand more how much sacrifice really means and how it shows love and strength.

This quote is important because it helps Eddie understand that the things he gave up in life weren’t wasted. He had always been angry about losing his leg in the war, but now he’s able to see that his sacrifice helped save others. I thought this scene mattered because it showed that even painful moments can have a bigger purpose in life. This made me feel more thankful for the sacrifices people make every day. It also helped me see that doing something for someone else, even when things are hard, are meaningful.

The Captain talks about why men go to war. He says they might not always want to, but they feel like they’re supposed to. This helps Eddie understand that he joined the war because of pressure, not just choice. It shows how young people can sometimes be pushed into big decisions by what others expect. This made me think about how sometimes we do things because we feel we have to, not because we really want to. This helped me understand Eddie more and made me think about how important it is to know why we make certain choices in life.

This quote made me feel kind of sad but also real. It shows that parents can really affect their kids, even if they didn’t mean to hurt them. I think it’s true that when you’re young, things are more intense and you remember how people treat you. Some kids grow up with small problems, but others go through really hard stuff that sticks with them. It made me think about how important it is for parents to be careful with how they treat their kids. (pg 105).

I think it’s true that we don’t really understand their impact until we’re older. It made me realize that a lot of what I do now is because of what my parents did for me. It makes me want to appreciate them more while I still can, and spend as much time as possible with them.

This scene made me feel emotional because it’s about letting go of pain and learning to forgive. Eddie had a lot of anger toward his father, and it was holding him back in life, and the afterlife. This part shows that in order for Eddie to move forward, he needs to face those feelings and let them go. Eddie never got closure with his dad, and now he’s being told that forgiveness is the only way he can truly be free from those feelings.

This quote really made me think about how love doesn’t just stop when someone dies. You might not see them or talk to them, but you still feel close to them through memories. I liked how it said memory becomes your partner because that’s what happens when you miss someone. Eddie can’t be with Marguerite, but he still has their memories. That kind of love doesn’t go away, it just changes.

I felt bad when the Captain said he couldn’t tell him, but I also felt a little better when he said someone else could. It helped to show how Eddie’s story isn’t over yet and he still has more to learn in his afterlife. I think this moment shows how much Eddie needs to feel like his life had a purpose. It made me think about how most people just want to know they made a difference.

This part honestly made me feel really bad for Eddie because he seems so lost without Marguerite, and it’s really sad how much his life changed after she died. Birthdays for most people are happy events, and it’s sad to see how he stopped celebrating because of her death. The fact that he doesn’t even want cake or friends around shows how much he’s given up. I felt bad because you can tell he really loved her, and now that she’s gone, he just feels empty. It made me think about how scary it would be to lose someone who meant everything to you.

In this scene, Eddie meets Tala, a little girl he didn’t know he had hurt during the war. When he was a soldier, he burned down a hut and always felt like there was someone inside. Tala tells him she was the one hiding in the hut, and Eddie didn’t know. She died because of it. When she asked Eddie to wash her, it’s not about cleaning her, it’s her way of helping Eddie forgive himself and let go of the guilt he’s carried for years.

This part shows how people are connected, like the Blue Man said in the first lesson. Nicky didn’t know that losing his key would lead to Eddie’s death. They never met, but their lives still crossed. It shows that even small things we do can change someone else’s life. Nicky was part of Eddie’s story without even realizing it. This just helps prove the point that everyone is connected in some way, positive or negative.
