I see this in everyday life by  a soccer ball, it sits at rest unless you kick it. A pencil can rest unless you touvh it to roll.

This is known as action-reaction. This is used in everyday life  when you dive off of a diving board, you push down on the spring board. The board springs back and forces you into the air. When you jump off a small rowing boat into water, you will push yourself forward towards the water.
