Nowadays, it has become imperative to adjust our teaching methods to the requirements imposed by the rapid development that we are experiencing. Having this in mind, we have set out on the journey of discovering and rediscovering the pleasure of reading, as a way of improving students' basic competences - language, communication, as well as skills such as interpretation, critical thinking and analysis. Therefore, teaching English as a foreign language through stories can be a challenge as much as it can prove a source of endless inspiration and entertainment.

This page will be a dissemination tool to show the concrete results of our project

Hello everyone! I teach English as a Foreign Language at the Vocational School “IPEOA Mattei” in Vieste (Italy).

My birthday is on March 27^th, so I’m Aries and as almost all Aries girls I’m fun, free-spirited, stubborn and fiercely independent.

I speak English, German and French and, in the future, I would also like to learn Spanish. Why not? In the past I tried to learn a bit of Japanese and Korean too.

In my free time I love reading, singing but, above all, travelling. I have visited many countries, but my dream trip is the USA that I haven’t visited yet.

Melis ALCAN (TEACHER) Hi, I'm Melis Alcan. I am 12 years of English teacher. Now, I work in İbrahim Kozacıoğlu Secondary School in Mersin, Turkey. I am interested in pedagogical issues, environmental issues, different cultures, dances, musics, history and historical places and natural beauties. I also purpose to meet new cultures and new teaching styles so I can teach my students in a best way. Today's world is a globalizing place so learning new languages and cultures is very important and also necessary. And the stories are very important to learn about different cultures and languages. So, I think, our Erasmus+ project "Stories as Part of English Teaching and Learning" is a chance for the participant students and teachers. At the same time, I want to see new methods in teaching and I want to learn new cultures by seeing them.

Hi! My name is Erica Granatieri and I'm from Vieste (Italy). I am 16 years old, I'm a Professional High School student at "IPEOA Enrico Mattei"

My birthday is on November 9th,but I don't like autumn, in fact my favourite season is Summer. My zodiac sign is Scorpio.

I have been studying English for 11 years and I like it because I like languages and to travel the world. My favourite colour is yellow because is a happy colour and is bright like the sun.

In my free time I like playing volleyball (it 's my favourite sport), watching TV series, going out with my friends and travelling.
Unfortunatelly, we can't travel a lot because there is Covid, but I hope that we could travel as soon as possible.

My dream is to visit the USA because there are a lot of interesting monuments, for example the Statue of Liberty and a fantastic long beaches in Los Angeles.

I'm happy that I can be a part of this project!

I study in the vocational school "IPEOA Enrico Mattei" in Vieste.

I love reading books, listening to music, cooking, studying and watching Netflix series.
My favourite Netflix series are "La casa de papel" and "Lucifer".

I'd like a lot to travel all over the world and I would really like to visit Amsterdam, Tokyo and USA.
In my future, after the university, I would like to live in Naples (my hometown) or in Florence by myself.

Hi, everyone! I teach German in my school in Vieste, the vocational school IPEOA "Enrico Mattei" since 2014, but I started teaching German and English in 1998.
When I was a University student I partecipated at an Erasmus mobility in Germany,in Bremen. Today I am Erasmus Project Coordinator in my school.
I like meeting people from all over the world. I find it very interesting and funny.

I am Italian and I live in Vieste, Puglia, one of the most renowned tourist destination in Europe.
Vieste is located in the southern Italy; I love my town and its costline.
My family is my life.
I have two chidren, Maria, 7 years old and Romeo, 4 years old.
With my husband, Mauro, I manage a small Resort &Spa on the south coast of Vieste during the summer.
I love the tourist hospitality sector and it is also in this branch that I try to specialise and then teach my students all the various strategies of tourism marketing.
I was born on 3 September and I'm Virgo, so I'm very fussy and precise.
I speak two foreign languages, English and French, and I would like to learn Spanish too...
My passion is travelling. In the past I have travelled a lot and I would like to continue discovering new places and cultures, as well as savouring their local cuisine!
