Once Charles was back in rule their was a big interest in colonialism. Charles soon started interfering with colonialism. He wanted the Quakers in Massachusetts who weren't following England's rules to be sent over to England and trialed, but none were sent over to England. Then England soon wanted to take over New Netherlands so Charles the First told The Duke of York, (his brother) to attack and take over New Netherlands. So The Duke of York sent four warships over to New Netherlands expecting war. But then Stuyvesant was the only person who wanted to fight so they surrendered peacefully without a fight.
