It also required that meat products have to produced and packaged in sanitary conditions. In additions, they created the Pure Food and Drug administration Act that made sure that any food regarding unsafe substances can not be sent to the public. A lot of the stuff I found out was absolutely disgusting. All of this surprised me, because the conditions were so horrifying. The unsanitary conditions and the gross treatment of the meat made me feel sick. For these reasons, I am very happy that they made laws to fix this. It also made me wonder what the citizens thought when they found out about the food they were eating.
