The teacher must change his traditional role to become a facilitator in the classroom.

Transfer the responisibilty of learning, to students where they present lessons and engage in peer teaching/learning.

Move away from multiple-choice responses and focus on responses that can show understanding of concepts / steps of solution.

Creating the right environment is the key success for an effective education as said by Ron Berger, the culture a student is enrolled in is very important as the learning environment plays a signifact impact on the students and that being cognitive, social and mental. Teachers needs to understand students and create a mutual environment, avoid judging and encourage strong skills advancement.  

Stay proactive. Ensure your next teaching activity is ready and set up before a current one ends. To allow students to be active and build along. In addition, self-management, like managing emotions, controlling impulses, and setting goals. Social awareness, like seeing things from other people's perspective, showing empathy, and appreciating diversity. Relationship skills, like communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution. By doing so you would be able to support students progress individuals and groups building learning experience. 

I do believe that under no circumstances should Teacher use Assessment as a way to punish or reprimand students, but rather to lead them to improvement by means of constructive feedback.

Moreover, guided by the above, students must initially get well-informed of the rubric criteria of assessment and what they should comply with so that their contribution/answers should meet the requirement and ace the full or high mark. 

Both teachers and students need also to understand that assessment is only intended for the sake of learning itself. From this standpoint, assessment is more focused on rewarding rather than negatively punishing!
