Hitler demanded that Czechoslovakia hand over some of their land where many Germans lived at the time, they declined and instead Hitler met with the British prime minister, the French Premier, and the Italian Dictator to ask for it and in return he promised he wouldn't invade the rest of Czechoslovakia. A year later he violated this agreement and he and his troops invaded the rest of Czechoslovakia.

Warsaw, Poland. The Invading of Poland

In September of 1939 Hitler sent troops from the German army into Poland and with the help of the Soviet army. This caused Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, but after they declared war on them Germany was "quiet" and didn't do anything for 2 weeks after that.

Germany invaded France and split France into two regions, one controlled by France and the other by Germany. Even though Germany controlled France many French people fled to Great Britain and set up a french military base there. Many french territories in Africa declared their loyalty to France in support but it wouldn't do much.

The Nazi's attempted to invade Great Britain through bombings and air fighting. They were attempting to bomb Great Britain into surrendering but Great Britain used their own airplanes/jets to fight back and eventually pushed back enough that Germany retreated. Hitler decided to pause their attacks on Britain and focus on something else.

Beijing, China. The purging of the CCP

The President of China Chiang Kai-shek orders a purge of all Chinese Communist Party members in attempt to keep control of China, they killed tens of thousands of CCP members. Chiang's troops encircled southeastern China in order to stop supplies from getting into the CCP's territory, and thousands of CCP solders/members died this way and many peasants that were loyal to the CCP's leader Mao Zedong died that way as well.

Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. Japan's invasion of China

Japan attacked the Chinese province of Manchuria, when Japan took over China turned to the League of Nations, they demanded that Japan stop invading China, Japan refused and continued to invade China. by 1937 Japan had taken over most of northern China, they also killed as many as 300,000 Chinese civilians. Japan went to a meeting for the League of Nations known as the Brussels Conference and Japan was asked to stop attacking it's neighbors, they denied this request and continued their attacks.

Japan warplanes sank an American gunboat called the Panay in 1937, they killed 3 Americans and injured 30. Japan apologized and they settled things peacefully. After Japan continued to encroach on other Eastern Nations America pulled back on trade in an effort to keep some important resources from Japan. Roosevelt moved the headquarters for the U.S Pacific Fleet to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. And America completely stopped all trade with Japan after they signed a War agreement with Germany.
