Palacio the protagonist is August Pullman. Auggie can be described as timid in the beginning of the novel. On page 19, Auggie says,"Mom sat down in a chair in front of Mr. Tushman desk, and even though there was a chair right next to hers, I decided to stand beside her."(Palacio 19)This shows that instead of looking Tushman in the face he went to hide behind his mom. On the other hand, at the end of the novel he has become confident. On page 266, Auggie says,"Look, I said stepping in front of jack holding my hands up in the air like a traffic cop."(Palacio 266)This shows that Auggie in the beginning would've hid behind  Jack but now he stood up for himself. Another character in the novel, Wonder, is Via. In the novel Via is a static character. You can describe her as accepting. For instance, Via says,"Mom and dad would always say I was the most understanding little girl in the world."(Palacio 82) This shows that she gets that Auggie needs more attention. Another character trait is responsible. Via states,"Were people nice to you?"(Palacio 96) This shows that she checks in on Auggie because she is responsible enough to take care of her own problems. Palacio the main characters are; Auggie, Via, Mom, Dad, Summer, Jack will and Julian. It takes place present day New York. Auggie's problem is being deformed and going to school for the first time. later on Auggie got a tour around the school and Julian asks a rude question. Then, Jack Will badmouthed Auggie behind his back because Julian pressured him to say something bad. After that, when Auggie found out he de-friended Jack. When Julian brought it up Jack got frustrated and punched him. The war began after that. On top of that daisy died Auggie and his family mourned. A turning point in the story was when Auggie and Jack ran into seventh graders and got into a fight. Auggie stood his ground but then Amos, Miles and Henry came to help. When he got back to school everyone was talking about it and everyone even if they never talked to Auggie high-fived him and talked to him.
